Het was geen aanval of diss, hoor. Maar Aretha heeft gewoon een uitzonderlijk goede soulstem (niet voor niks Queen of Soul). Je had het erover dat je niet snapt wat men in haar hoort. Dat vind ik dan weer een overdreven uitspraak. Natuurlijk kan Aretha toevallig binnen de soul net je ding niet zijn (ik heb bijvoorbeeld helemaal niks met Solomon Burke en vind The Neville Brothers hun stem vervelend gebruiken en er zijn users [no names] die Stevie's stem niet trekken). Daar doelde ik meer op met uitzondering. Al zal het me verbazen als je Shirley Brown bijvoorbeeld wel een prettige stem vindt hebben.

Ik geloof dat ik van haar alleen Woman to Woman ken, maar daar vind ik haar toch erg goed op. En je kan het een rare uitspraak vinden, maar ik snap gewoon echt niet wat men in Aretha hoort.
