Na de jaren 1972 t/m 1977 georganiseerd te hebben wil ik mij nu eens wagen aan een knock-out voor het jaar 2009, want dat jaar is nog niet aan bod geweest. Het organiseren van dit jaar zal mij wel meer hoofdbrekens kosten dan de jaren zeventig vrees ik. Ik heb de vorige jaren van dit decennium eens doorgenomen en het bleek dat sommige knock-outs wel erg lang duurden. Het is daarom ook niet mijn bedoeling om uit te gaan van 256 albums. Mijn voorkeur gaat uit naar 128 albums, die ik er al vast uitgepikt heb. Zij hebben minimaal 95 stemmen en een gemiddelde van niet lager dan 3,5. De meeste users zullen het hier niet mee eens zijn denk ik. Dus heb ik de volgende optie; ieder user nomineert twee albums die niet in het lijstje staan tot we uitkomen bij 64. Die 64 gaan in een voorronde tegen de laagste geklasseerde 64 van het rijtje van 128 strijden wie er door mag gaan naar de volgende ronde. Het gemiddelde mag niet lager zijn dan 3,50 en het album moet op zijn minst 20 stemmen hebben.
Als iemand betere suggesties heeft, dan hoor ik het graag.

Een ander idee is om per genre de albums uit hun toplijst te vissen. Of wacht, dat gaat niet want je kunt alleen óf het jaartal aanvinken bij toplijsten óf het genre.

Deze lijst van 128 albums zijn gerangschikt naar gemiddelde van hoog naar laag. Mocht er een verzamel- of livealbum tussen zitten, dan graag even vermelden. Dan kan ik die verwijderen.
