Tis natuurlijk niet eerlijk, van Slayer en Mercyful Fate heb je een berg nummers met een zeer satanistische achtergrond.

Daarom zocht ik bij andere artiesten even in de lyrics. Naast number of the beast van Iron Maiden vond ik nog een zeer goede.
Heb hem speciaal voor jullie even geüpload.

lyrics gaan niet echt over Satan.
Maar het nummer is zo evil.

Echt waar! als je hem achteruitspeelt (net als bij Stairway To Heaven, al heb ik het niet zo op dat speel-het-nummer-achteruit-trucje, het is vaker wat je denkt dat je hoort dan wat je ook daadwerkelijk hoort)

High On Fire - Devilution

Idd, de legende gaat dat Johnson op een nacht na een optreden, alleen en dronken, de crossroads bij Clarksdale opliep. Daar zou hij de duivel tegen zijn gekomen, die hem gitaartalent gaf in ruil voor zijn ziel. Toen hij een dag later terugkwam, was iedereen verbaasd over het geniale gitaarspel van de voorheen middelmatige Johnson. Deze mythe is overigens ook het thema van het album van de, ook expliciet met occultisme flirtende, heren Page & Plant, Walking into Clarksdale.

Verder valt het me op dat Black Sabbath hier nog niet is genoemd, dat zijn natuurlijk de godfathers van het occultisme in popmuziek, met o.a. Black Sabbath, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, War Pigs etc.
