Blijkbaar stond dit album eerst als een regulier album op MusicMeter en dat is mijns inziens niet zo gek. Wat heeft Peter Hammill zelf over dit album gezegd:

"All [songs] are built on the original backing tracks with the exceptions of 'Again' and 'If I Could', which were based on live recordings form the K Group tour which eventually had a full release in 'The Margin'. With the sole exception of 'Been Alone So Long' I recorded new lead vocals so as to bring things emphatically into the present.

There's a strange mix to the reimaginings. A bit of drumulator here and there to add a rhythm structure but for the most part the overdubs are synths and occasional e-bow guitar. Stuart Gordon puts violin onto 'Vision' but he's the only external musician on the thing."

Dus als aERodynamIC dit album een coherent geheel vindt, is dat logisch. De toegevoegde synthesizers en ook de nieuwe zang maken het tot een eenheid. Het blijft natuurlijk arbitrair: leg je nadruk op de backing tracks, dan is het een verzamelalbum, leg je nadruk op de nieuwe toevoegingen, dan is het een nieuw album.

Zelf vind houd ik overigens meer van de originele versies.
