Bij elkaar bijna een half uur aan muziek

Ik blijf bij mijn mening toen ik mijn top-100 maakte, de catchiness van het refrein van Emily doet het hem. Maar er zijn momenten dat ik meer verliefd ben op Only Skin en ik sluit niet aan dat in de toekomst zomaar Only Skin boven Emily komt te staan in mijn top-100.

Emily is lang mijn favoriet geweest maar tegenwoordig ga ik toch voor Only Skin. Dat stukje met Bill Callahan maakt het verschil. Wel de droomfinale overigens.

Hoewel de beste man natuurlijk ook bekend is van zijn werk met Genesis en op zijn zachtst gezegd niet heel productief is, is er nog meer dan genoeg moois wat hij solo gemaakt heeft om een KO mee te vullen.
Het is mijn eerste spel wat ik organiseer op deze site, dus ik hoop dat alles goed verloopt, maar hoor graag tips en opmerkingen.
Voor de selectie heb ik alle singles (bekend en minder bekend) aangevuld met de favoriete albumtracks en nummers uit films. De Duitse albums, het coveralbum en het New Blood-album heb ik buiten beschouwing gelaten. Ook de soundtrack van Long Walk Home is niet gebruikt, omdat de thema’s van de meest favoriete nummers daar al in andere nummers terug komen. Hopelijk heb ik niets over het hoofd gezien, anders hoor ik het graag!
Ik kom dan op de onderstaande 64 nummers uit. Mocht je nou niet alles kennen, geen probleem, bij de loting is bij elk nummer een link toegevoegd naar het betreffende nummer, zodat je ook nog geregeld van geweldige clips kunt genieten en het onbekende werk kunt leren kennen.

Ik mag wel zeggen dat het een fantastische startlijst is! Uiteraard mis ik wel iets (Loved to be Loved?) en vind ik dat er iets tussen staat wat ietwat ongepast is (Courage, goed nummer verder hoor) maar over het algemeen kan de Gabriel liefhebber hier behoorlijk bij watertanden.
Op zich wel jammer dat er niks van Long Walk is genomineerd, een 4,5* album voor mij.
Om in de stemming te komen!

Tja, Love to be Loved was de laatste afvaller, moet ik eerlijk zijn (te weinig voorkeurstemmen bij Us en Kiss that Frog was een single). Ik heb Courage toegevoegd op basis van dat het min of meer gepresenteerd is als single, bij de nieuwe uitgave van So. Ik weet niet op basis waarvan je het ongepast vind? Overigens had ik op basis van persoonlijke voorkeur ook liever Love to be Loved gezien.
Ik heb wel even zitten stoeien op de startlijst. Ook ik ben wel liefhebber van Long Walk Home, maar dan zouden uiteraard andere nummers geschrapt moeten worden. Ik heb uiteindelijk dan toch maar gekozen voor zo veel mogelijk uniek materiaal.
Ik ben blij dat je je er verder goed in kan vinden
