1. Ashes to Ashes (Johan 1, Luigi 1)
De gedoodverfde favoriet eindigt ook gewoon op 1. Geen LMR-syndroom bij ons
Uiteraard een van Bowies meest enduring songs. Meteen zette hij zich on top van de nieuwe New Wave en New Romantic-movement met deze klassieker. De video kostte 250,000 pond en was daarmee destijds de duurste ooit gemaakt. Ook een legendarische natuurlijk, met onder andere Steve Strange van Visage in een hoofdrol . Het nummer klinkt ook na 45(!) nog altijd fris en zal wel nooit vervelen. Een mooie verwijzing ook naar zijn doorbraakhit en, toeval of niet, het werd ook Bowies eerste nummer 1 hit in de UK sinds Space Oddity. In Nederland bleef het hangen op nummer 11 overigens. Hoe dan ook, I'm happy, hope you're happy too
