Even wat nieuwkomers eruit pikken:
Sister Cookie is een Britse rhythm'n'blues-zangeres in het oldschool-genre; daar scoor ik op dit forum weinig medestanders mee.
Rosalie Cunningham kan hier misschien wel op fans rekenen; het is een opkomende zangeres die we in de psychedelische rock-hoek kunnen positioneren.
Jelle Paulusma was uiteraard de zanger/ songschrijver van het legendarische Daryll-Ann. Op het Nederlandstalige 'Heartlands' bezingt hij zijn jeugd op de Veluwe.
Bij de groepsnaam Delvon Lamarr Organ Trio weet je meteen wat je krijgt: oldschool ouderwetse vette instrumentale orgel-soul.
Nog meer ouderwetse soulklanken komen van the Buttshakers; ook al zo'n band die z'n naam eer aan doet. The Buttshakers draaien al zo'n jaar of tien mee, komen uit Frankrijk, maar met de Amerikaanse frontvrouw Ciara Thompson.
Andrew Cashen komt uit Austin, Texas. Hij mengt op 'Bad man' flowerpower-fluitjes met een snerpende gitaar.
Modern Studies tenslotte is een Britse groep die ooit eens startte met kamermuziek, maar intussen het klassieke hebben losgelaten ten faveure van de folk. Ik durf ze op 'Wild ocean' best met Big Thief te vergelijken

Dat wordt gewoon een top 3 positie op het songfestival dit jaar. Wat een performance, prachtige act met die lasers, die stem: wow! De nanana's & oeh-aahs zijn natuurlijk nodig om de anderstalige luisteraar niet teveel te vervreemden. We staan inmiddels 7e bij de bookmakers (en stijgende). Laat mei maar komen.

Hoogste nieuwe binnenkomer is Cips Kola Kilit. Dit nummer is vorig jaar al uitgebracht op het Earth Day-album Âlem, maar dit album was alleen te beluisteren via Bandcamp. Nu Altin Gün weer gaat touren pusht de band twee singles. Cips Kola Kilit is een echt festivalnummer en een nummer om vrolijk van te worden.

Sextile is terug met twee nieuwe singles, waarvan ik Contortion de betere vind. Misschien nog wel bekend van Current Affair uit 2018 (nog steeds één van de beste singles van 2018, met dank aan Masimo die het nummer in de MuMeAfrekening onder de aandacht bracht).

week 11 van 2022 waarin Flower Face rustig op 1 blijft, het aantal nummers dat eigenlijk in de top10 moet nog steeds niet past en er ook weer 6 nieuwe binnenkomers zijn waarbij de hoogste 2 met vrijwel hetzelfde eind..
Meestal wacht ik een week als een nummer op vrijdag uitkomt, maar er zijn altijd uitzonderingen.
De nieuwe Donna Blue is de uitzondering, meteen vanaf de eerste keer helemaal weg van. Dit keer weer eens in het frans gezongen en muzikaal wat minder minimaal dan ze soms zijn; heerlijk zo.
Honeyglaze heeft eerde mijn lijst gehaald, daarna heb ik een nummer overgeslagen maar de laatste is weer raak. Naast de bijzondere (grappige) tekst over een mislukt kapsel is de muziek ook bijzonder met wat tempo wisselingen; en dat allemaal in een erg kort liedje van nog geen 2 minuten.
Abbie Ozard verraadt haar sterrenbeeld in haar nieuwe single, een prima popplaatje. Niet zo bijzonder als bv Heartbreak Radio maar wel gewoon lekker.
Automatic zal ik later dit jaar nog op BKS gaan zien, de nieuwe single doet weer erg denken aan 80s bands als Delta5, Girls at Our Best en Au Pairs.
Frances of Delirium stond vorig jaar ook in m'n lijst, toen een top 15 notering. De nieuwe single is wel een lekker alt. rock plaatje.
De nieuwe Kynsy moet nog even groeien, ze heeft toch al 2 nummer 1 hits bij mij gehaald. De nieuwe klinkt wat electronischer dan die singles.

Alweer een week voorbij? Zowaar stress van de snelheid waarmee ik weer met mijn favorieten van 't moment moet gaan schuiven. The Haunted Youth doet het met zichzelf, haasje-over I mean, en is op weg om de eerste plaats te gaan veroveren met hun ode aan Amenra. Al even dromerig en meteen de TOP 5 binnen gekomen: Runaway van Beach House. Of dit nu een single is? Het is mij niet meteen duidelijk. Wel kwamen ze vorige week met dit nummer een (alternatieve) hitlijst binnen, dusjah. Hier staan trouwens een handvol nummers van Beach House in de lijsten, maar niemand lijkt voor dezelfde song te gaan. Dan kan er nog wel ééntje bij, dacht ik zo. Het beste exemplaar van de plaat. Volgende week zal ik eens wat harder rammelen met de lijst.

Rammstein is plots terug met Zeit en het gelijknamige album komt eind volgende maand al uit. Zeit is de hoogste van vijf nieuwe binnenkomers deze week. Wat verder onderin vinden we de nieuwe van The Black Keys, Wild Child is de eerste single van het te verschijnen album Dropout Boogie, vanwege de clip mogen ze ook in de spotlights






Phoebe Bridgers bracht afgelopen week een prachtige akoestische live versie uit van Chinese Satellite, Live from Sound City. Belle and Sebastian brachtten vorige week Unnecessary Drama uit, een fijn nummer dat nog wel mijn tiplijst haalde, maar het deze week uitgekomen If They're Shooting at You bevalt me veel beter en komt meteen de lijst binnen. Tenslotte komen de 'Peppers' ook met hun tweede single de lijst binnen, maar heel voorzichtig en zonder al te veel overtuiging
