Het hangt er natuurlijk ook een beetje vanaf waar je naar op zoek bent. Soms gebeurt het inderdaad dat de muziek waar je zelf het meest gecharmeerd van bent in een bepaald jaar minder uit de verf komt, maar dat het voor andere mensen juist weer een fantastisch jaar is. Dat is ook wel weer het leuke, wetende dat de rollen het volgende jaar waarschijnlijk weer zijn omgedraaid.

Heb jij trouwens het nieuwe album van M. Ward al eens beluisterd? Op de Merge website kun je het hele album streamen. Alleen het eerste nummer al, prachtig! Verder zou ik je ook graag de nieuwe Sodastream willen aanraden. Trieste, melancholische popmuziek zoals Belle & Sebastian in hun beginperiode ook nog wel eens maakten.

Klopt ook wel: weinig nieuwe spannende namen ontdekt die bij mij een 5* status scoren en ook de grotere namen krijgen het niet voor elkaar blijkbaar (uit mijn lijst alleen Veils, en dat is dan nog een twijfelachtige 5*).
Ter vergelijk: in 2004 stonden echt een flink aantal 5* albums in mijn top 10 en kon ik geen keuze maken hoe die top 10 verder nog aan te vullen (terwijl anderen dat weer een mager jaar vonden ).

Eén album met 5*, twee met 4,5* en de rest is hier 4*.
Toch vind ik het best een aardig jaar. Ben ook veel meer op zoek dan andere jaren.

Misschien ligt het aan mij, maar ik vind het tot nu toe een mager muziekjaar, in ieder geval het minste van de 21e eeuw. Van de meer dan 100 nieuwe albums die ik dit jaar heb gehoord hebben er maar 5 een hogere beoordeling dan 4* gekregen.

Er zijn nog zo veel platen van 2006 die ik zelfs nog moet luisteren.

Maakt zoiets een jaar meteen tot een goed muziekjaar? Als ik dit jaar een 5* had gehad vind ik het in de breedte nog steeds een matig jaar.

In de afgelopen 15 jaar heb ik nog nooit zo veel 4* albums in mijn top 10 gehad. Hoewel het jaar nog niet is afgelopen heb ik (mede gezien wat er nog gepland is aan releases de komende twee maanden) niet het idee dat dit beeld zal veranderen.
