Herkenbaar: Keane vond ik toen met het debuut geweldig (ik hield in die tijd sowieso van soortgelijke bandjes) maar nu heb ik er weinig meer mee.
Coldplay beetje zelfde verhaal maar die heb ik om dezelfde reden als jij toch in de top 10 gezet want ik vind dat die emoties wel degelijk mee mogen spelen in zo'n top 10 (zo ook de nummer 1 in mijn gewone top 10 die daar helemaal niet zou staan als ik herinneringen wegvlak). Als ik een lijstje maak met wat ik nu mooi vind dan blijf ik veranderen. Emotie en herinneringen horen meegewogen te worden bij mij.

Ik vind de lage positie van I Am A Bird Now wel verrassend, eigenlijk, toch wel één van dé grote knuffelplaten van het decennium onder muziekliefhebbers.

Verder weinig verrassingen, alleen het ontbreken van Demon Days vind ik raar.

Op 3 na komen ze in de top-100 voor. Velen hebben gekozen voor het 2e album van Antony and the Johnsons, dat Beirut daar niet in voorkomt is wel een tegenvaller, Absynthe Minded is een Belgische band die nu pas bekend wordt (en hun muziek is minder toegankelijk).

Ik besef net dat wanneer ik mijn Top 10 hetzelfde had gelaten vanaf 29 december, Funeral op nummer 1 zou komen. Ik wilde oorspronkelijk van elke artiest maar één album, had ik In Rainbows op 1 en Funeral op plaats 8. Maar gisteren besloot ik dat Radiohead wel twee plekken verdiend en heb ik Kid A op plaats 6 gezet gezet en Funeral eruit geknikkerd (Joanna Newsom en Sigur Ros had ik gister nog een keer geluisterd en vond die toch beter dan Funeral). Daardoor verloor Funeral 3 punten, won Kid A 5 punten en werd Kid A eerste

Tegenvallend, ik had het idee dat Songs: Ohia wel een paar noteringen zou halen, dat Drum's Not Dead hier aardig wat aanhangers heeft en de hip-hopcommunity The Mouse and the Mask wel in de lijst zou stemmen. Ben wel tevreden over de lijst, veel van de platen die er in staan kan ik wel goed waarderen.

27. Madvillain - Madvillainy (2004) en 89. Cannibal Ox - The Cold Vein (2001) staan erin.
Die had ik ook in mijn top 10 staan, maar dat mocht niet baten.

Mooi gezegd. Dat we dat het komende decennium ook maar mogen blijven doen.

De beste wensen voor 2010 en de jaren '10 aan iedereen hier op Musicmeter!

Eerste bedenking, waar staat MGMT? Dat verfrissende album staat blijkbaar niet eens bij de beste 100. MGMT heeft in Vlaanderen (gelukkig) een andere status dan in Nederland. Ook geen Cut Copy/M83 of consoorten, Nederlanders hebben daar blijkbaar een hekel aan. Op RYM scoren deze artiesten beter dan Coldplay of Arctic Monkeys.

Tweede bedenking, het zijn de albums die ik zelf ook overschat vind die in deze hernieuwde lijst slecht scoren in vergelijking tot de noteringen in de top 250. Voorbeelden hoef ik niet te noemen, wie de lijstjes eens vergelijkt ziet zelf dat een aantal albums hoger scoren in de top 250 dan in de toplijst van dit decenium.

836 stemmen en meer dan 30 000 gebruikers? Ik heb geen recht van spreken want ben zelf vergeten te stemmen, maar het is wel frapant dat slechts 3% van alle gebruikers een lijstje heeft opgesteld.

Wat betreft het commentaar van west: als er sprake is van fanclubs en stemoproepen zou je bij een relatief gering aantal stemmers een hoog puntenaantal verwachten. Dat is voor Sufjan en Sigur Ros niet het geval. De albums met gemiddeld het hoogste aantal punten per stemmer zijn: Porcupine Tree - Fear of a Blank Planet, Elbow - The Seldom Seen Kid Live, Fennesz en Madvillain. Een relatief lage score gezien het aantal stemmers: Amy Winehouse, Franz Ferdinand en The Last Shadow Puppets.

Van Madvillain had ik het ook wel verwacht, DOOM is immers ongeveer de grootste naam uit heel independent hip-hop, maar van Cannibal Ox is het echt een geweldige verassing!
Ik vraag me af hoeveel mensen er met mij op Monkey Barz hebben gestemd.
