Een derde plek is zeer fraai maar van mij had Otis een keer mogen winnen. Het hele oeuvre in ogenschouw nemend mijn favoriete soulartiest van allemaal.

Dan A Change maar ‘gewoon’, die sla ik net iets hoger aan dan Inner City Blues.

Het wordt Sam. Maar Marvin is beter.

Zover er überhaupt over beter/niet beter gesproken kan worden. Maar dat terzijde.

Inderdaad. Anders mooi is een betere benaming.

Van 1 naar 3 en nu weer terug op 1. Na een lange weg van ladders, knock-outs en andere lijsten komt A Change is Gonna Come wederom bovendrijven als de nummer 1 soulsong aller tijden.

Een beetje een lauwe ontvangst van de ontknoping hiervan... Dat snap ik ergens ook wel, want het mooiste soulnummer is het wat mij betreft niet.

All kidding aside, ondanks dat mensen het wellicht niet altijd associëren bij mij, hou ik absoluut van soulmuziek. Het is één van de weinige genres die mij écht kan raken. Vandaar dat ik al jaren graag gebruik maak van deze lijst, en met name de Spotify-lijst. Dat zal met deze versie niet anders zijn.

Bedankt Reijersen voor het organiseren en de rest voor het stemmen.

Helaas Sam gewonnen, op 1 of andere manier heb ik er niet een zodanige klik mee dat ik dit een absoluut topnummer vind zoals ik dat bij Otis, Curtis of Marvin bijv wel heb.. Helaas de mooiste van Otis niet de hoogste en eigenlijk had ik liever een aantal andere Otis songs in de finale gezien dan de 2 die er nu nog bijzaten (Pain In My Heart en That's How Strong My Love Is bijv.) .

Afijn, desalnietttemin een mooie eindlijst en het blijft een mooi topic.

Vier puntjes verschil maar tussen Otis en Marvin! Sam Cooke is deze keer de duidelijke winnaar. Ik kan daar uitstekend mee leven. Een van de allermooiste stemmen in de muziek met een aangrijpend en indringend nummer. Vanavond kwam het nog voorbij op Le Guess Who, ongeveer ten tijde van de ontknoping van dit topic.

Daniël, veel dank voor alle tijd en moeite die je weer in deze editie hebt gestoken. En ook een bedankje voor Mb., jeroentjuhh en principal, de die-hards die bijna iedere ladder hebben meegestemd. De animo mag dan niet altijd even groot zijn maar met elkaar hebben we er toch maar mooi een muzikaal feestje van gemaakt!

Niet verrassend dat Sam op één stond, maar A Change Is Gonna Come blijft een geweldig nummer.

En nogmaals, bedankt voor al het werk dat je er weer in hebt gestoken Reijersen. Zeker gezien het feit dat het vaste clubje met stemmers alsmaar kleiner werd. Dat werkt nooit motiverend.

Ideeën voor een nieuwe, minder tijdrovende opzet zijn natuurlijk altijd welkom.

Ik zal me er komende dagen eens over buigen.

Ik zat er iig aan te denken om weer een nieuwe soultopic te openen. Hopelijk sluiten de vaste mensen dan weer gezellig aan.
