Echt een topfinale dit! Zeker geen straf om beide nummers nog een keer aandachtig te beluisteren. Ultha trekt voor mij nipt aan het langste eind.

Voor mij niet nipt, maar dat heeft er ook wel deels mee te maken dat Cult of Luna straffer materiaal heeft. Dat dit geen misselijk nummer is, mag wel duidelijk wezen, het zijn dan ook absolute klasbakken. Maar wat mij betreft, ontbreekt de progressie een beetje ten aanzien van eerder werk. Vertikal was nog grensverleggend, daarna kregen we toch vooral een herhaling van - kwalitatief hoogstaande - zetten.

Ultha daarentegen heeft met All That Has Never Been True mijn favoriete metalplaat van 2022 afgeleverd. Plaatje klopt gewoon voor mij.

Ik heb een paar gevestigde namen bij dit topic nog niet hun stem zien geven. Jullie hebben nog een klein anderhalf uur!

Mooi dat AOVV zo'n verhaal afsteekt dat perfect aansluit op mijn gedachte: scheelt mij weer nodeloos typen en kan ik tijdens het luisteren meteen even het avondeten in elkaar flansen. Ondanks mijn povere kokkereltalenten moet het met zulke arbeidsvitaminen wel een vorstelijk godenmaal worden!

Het zal vast niemand meer verbazen dat andermaal Dieter de trofee in de lucht mag steken, na een zoveelste overwinning. Volkomen terecht mag ie dus ook het volgende jaar gaan uitkiezen! Nog 8 jaartallen, nog 8 laureaten (en afsluiten kunnen we wellicht met 2023!). Daarna eventueel nog een finale finaleronde met alle winnaars tegenover elkaar, al zijn dat er dan met 2023 bij 44 in totaal. Dat wordt wel effe puzzelen..
