En ook deze ladder was geen goede ladder voor de nominaties want deze liggen er allemaal definitief uit. En naast de nominaties valt ook Feist af en dus uit de top 2000 van dit jaar. De virtuele scheidslijn in de afvallerslijst is in een vrije val naar beneden terechtgekomen de laatste 10 ladders.

We zijn momenteel op exact 4/5 van het aantal ladders uit Ronde 1. Dat betekent dat je volgens de kort door de bocht statistiek nu bij de bovenste 100 afvallers moet zitten om het aan het eind te redden via de afvallerslijst. Alle 4 de nominaties eindigen onder de streep van rechtstreekse kwalificatie maar alleen Doves scoort een hoog genoeg stempercentage om zich nog via de afvallerslijst voor de top 2000 te plaatsen. The Gathering valt weg uit de eindlijst.

Ik was even bang dat de Doves het niet gingen redden, maar die halen het gelukkig (nipt).

Aphex Twin kwalificeert zich als nominatie moeiteloos voor de top 2000 eindlijst. Dat geldt niet voor de overige 3 nominaties, die gaan het alle 3 niet redden. Ook Crowded House gaat afvallen en verdwijnt uit de eindlijst. Voor Porcupine Tree wordt het spannend, die staan nu 2 plaatsen boven de virtuele scheidslijn, voorlopig dus safe maar nog niet definitief veilig.

Jammer van Howard Jones - Hide and Seek. Mooie nominatie! Hopelijk redt mijn oude nominatie, Anesthetize, het.

Klassieker Breakfast in Vegas had het ook wel mogen redden.

Mwa, als groot liefhebber van 90s dance kan ik zo 100 nummers in het genre bedenken die daar eerder recht op hebben. Te beginnen met Injected with a Poison van dezelfde artiest

Daar hadden we bijna een kans om een van die oersaaie neuzelnummers van Dire Straits te dumpen. Doen we het niet.

Fontaines DC plaatst zich moeiteloos voor de eindlijst, dit in tegenstelling tot de overige 3 nominaties die het alle 3 niet redden. Ook Jon Hopkins redt het niet en valt weg uit de lijst. Tori Amos haalt het wel makkelijk want ze scoort een behoorlijk hoog stempercentage.

En daarmee zijn alle zes mijn nominaties door. Nooit eerder meegemaakt. Niet de meest moeilijke wellicht, maar andere nominaties van dezelfde artiest, genomineerd door andere users hebben deze ronde niet overleefd. Dus het was nu ook weer niet een vaststaand gegeven. En Sophie Straat hier wel door (nominatie van vigil) en in de Witte trui (van mij) weer niet, vorig jaar Kylie niet door maar in witte trui weer wel (ook door vigil). Het is van tevoren niet altijd te voorspellen.

Deze Fontaines was overigens de enige waarvan ik 100% zeker was dat die wel door moest gaan. Populair bandje, populair album

Toch geniet ik het meest van de onverwachte succesjes zoals in het verleden The Irrepressibles of Marc Almond.
