Ah, even geen rekening mee gehouden.. maar beetje arbitraire grens, aangezien het wel synthpop krakers zijn natuurlijk, voelt onnatuurlijk als die niet mee mogen doen.

Waren inderdaad ook zo'n beetje de eerste nummers waar ik aan moest denken.

Dus daarom stond hij er nog niet in.

The Model van Kraftwerk is uit 1978, maar werd in 1981 op single uitgebracht
en bereikte in 1982 de nummer 1 in de UK. Over moeilijk geval gesproken natuurlijk ...

The Model was in 1978 trouwens vreemd genoeg geen single.
Die eer vielen The Robots en Neon Lights te beurt.

We gaan niet moeilijk doen als een een track bv in 1979 op lp uitkwam en in 1980 op single of andersom. Nummers die zowel op single alsmede op lp in de 70's (of 90's) uitkwamen doen inderdaad dus niet mee.

Verder ga ik niet alle 256 (nu 251, Assembly staat er 2 x in) een voor een becommentariëren hoor

Nog even wat kort commentaar:

- Freiheit vind ik wel synthpop, zeker de hits. Sandra al helemaal, dat is ook uitgedacht door zo'n synthesizer nerd (Cretu -> enigma)
- Depeche Mode: Love in itself is typisch synthpop in mijn ogen, Blash Rumours niet... Tja niet op tijd genomineerd, doe je niets aan.
- sommige nummers zijn inderdaad arbitrair (bv. Mr. Mister (poprock) en Stranglers (postpunk/new wave)) maar zo lang we nog niet tot de 256 zijn hoeft daar de discussie ook nog niet over los te barsten. Mochten we rond zijn (zal toch vandaag wel gebeuren) kunnen we altijd nog wat titels omruilen.

Nee, niet bepaald nee. The Stranglers zijn na hun start als punkband inderdaad afgegleden richting de pop, maar om dit nu onder synthpop te scharen lijkt me wat teveel van het goede...

Het is ook geen synthesizer, die je hoort, maar een klavecimbel.

Never Tear Us Apart en Orchard Road, hoe goed ik ze ook vind, dat is toch geen synthpop?
Die van Heaven 17 ken ik niet (excuse-moi), maar gezien hun oeuvre zal het wel synthpop zijn??

Een nummer dat in de syntpop eigenlijk niet mag ontbreken is "Quiet Life" van Japan. Helaas komt dit nummer uit het jaar 1979. Net zoals dat nummer van Tubeway Army trouwens.

Over die Heaven 17 hoeven we inderdaad geen discussie te houden

over INXS ook niet want dat is het niet. Leo Sayer gaat al wel meer de richting in maar toch maar niet
