Klopt, maar hij heeft nog nooit meegespeeld; herman en deric raven hebben voor sommige muziek in dit topic ook een voorkeur maar die spelen ook niet (meer) mee.

Ik vind die benamingen van muziekstromingen altijd lastig. Als ik zie dat U2 en INXS ook meedoen. Die vallen binnen dit topic? Jesus and Mary Chain wil ik zeker aandragen, Frank

Nee, ik laat 1987 voor wat het is. Het NW/PP gehalte wordt me nu toch echt te laag.

Mocht er echter een Best of 1977 - 1986 gespeeld gaan worden, ja; daar zou ik zo maar aan mee kunnen gaan doen

Nou, dat is wel op het randje, zoals je zelf ook al wel vermoedde. We gaan geen scheidsrechter spelen wat wel of niet aanverwant is aan New Wave / Post-Punk, maar maak voor jezelf wel een onderscheid of je het er zelf onder vindt vallen (en dan gaat het vooral om het nummer, niet om de naam van een artiest). Beetje cryptisch omschreven misschien ...

Is heel breed, Talk Talk won 1986, voor The Smiths

Post-punk anno 1987 is zo goed als dood. Het gaat inmiddels meer om muziek met invloeden uit post-punk/new wave - dat wat eruit is voortgekomen. Het is ook interessant om te zien waarheen de pp/nw en de typische pp/nw bands zich ontwikkelen. De eerste aanzetten naar shoegaze/dream pop en een beetje britpop bijvoorbeeld.

Het mooie van dit topic is dat er toch nog een zekere afbakening is, met een "best of van een bepaald jaar" krijg je ook de Madonna's e.d. en wordt het veel hitlijst-muziek.

Laten we er geen discussie-topic van maken, het is allang bekend dat New Wave / Post-Punk moeilijk te definiëren is, of dat er in ieder geval verschil van mening over is. Nog steeds zorgt de afbakening in dit topic voor een "selectie" van muziek in een bepaald jaar. Ieder moet gewoon zelf die grenzen daarvoor bepalen.

Natuurlijk was er bv Killing joke, Wiseblood, Black Flag, Fields of the Nephilim die zeker in die stroming rondzwerven
