Goedemiddag dreampopliefhebbers en welkom bij de Beach House knock-out! Dit duo uit Baltimore bestaande uit Victoria Legrand en Alex Scally timmert al meer dan 10 jaar aan de weg als behoeft waarschijnlijk geen uitgebreide introductie meer. Sinds het derde album Teen Dream zijn ze een grote naam geworden binnen de alternatieve scene. We zouden ook wel kunnen stellen dat ze de vaandeldragers zijn van de huidige dreampop scene.
Met de indringende, lage stem van Victoria en de dromerige gitaar- en synthpartijen van Alex hebben ze een unieke sound weten te creëren die uit duizenden te herkennen is.
Anno 2017 hebben ze 6 regulier studio-albums uitgebracht en 1 verzamelplaat met daarop b-kantjes en andere losse nummers. Met daarbij het nummer dat Victoria Legrand samen met Grizzly Bear opnam voor de soundtrack van Twilight komen we op precies 72 unieke nummers uit. Een mooi aantal om een knock-out mee te gaan spelen. Om op een handzaam veelvoud van 2 uit te kunnen komen spelen we eerst een voorronde met de 16 minst populaire nummers. De 8 winnaars voegen zich samen bij de 56 nummers die voor deze ronde een bye hebben gekregen.
