Tja, Mad About the Boy was vorig jaar vreemd genoeg ook in de voorronde gestruikeld, terwijl het in 2015 nog in de generale Top 10 stond. Het moest daardoor dit jaar bij de loting in een pot met (her)nominaties. Wat meeviel was dat ze het tegen slechts 6 tracks hoefde op te nemen die het vorig jaar wel gehaald hadden, dat had ook nog een (relatief zwakke) zevende kunnen zijn, want gemiddeld zijn er dit jaar in groep E per ladder 6,3 gevestigde tracks. Het hoefde welbeschouwd alleen nieuwkomer The Closer You Are te verslaan, of anders desnoods Bring It On Home to Me.
