Vorig jaar moest ik nog één 4*-plaat opnemen, ditmaal is het allemaal minstens 4½*. 't Is verder andermaal niet erg dynamisch (zo is de top-13 stationair), maar ik verwelkom wel een derde Eloy op 24. Verder zit mijn waardering voor de klassieke Iron Maiden albums weer wat in de lift en dat vertaalt zich in een entry van de klassiekste klassieker op 14. Een en ander gaat ten koste van een tweede Camel (Stationary Traveller) en de laatste R.E.M. (Lifes Rich Pageant).

Soms denk ik wel eens dat ik niet zo van de 80's hou, maar hoe kun ik nou niet houden van het decennium waar Punk met hardcore hand regeerde, Hip Hop zijn oorsprong vond, er genoeg electronisch geknutseld werd, rock lekker noisy was en de sporadische jazz release na de hoogtij dagen stiekem nog best goed was
