Moeilijk, pas na eindeloos strepen tot 10 gekomen, ik ken ook bijna alle nummers. Angela Bofill, terecht door RobbyT getipt, heb ik er niet in staan terwijl ik daar wel een zwak voor heb (albums op de MuMe door mij op de site gezet). Ook het leuke reggaehitje van Port-o Spain, niets van terug te vinden op het hele internet, staat bij mij trots in de singlebak. Chagrain dámour, de eerste Franstalige rap is ook al zo´n plaatje dat nooit had moeten floppen. En zelfs Chic, toch een van mijn favoriete bands, heb ik er niet bij staan.

In mijn top tien dus alleen echte toppers. Mobiles, Blanket of Secrecy, en Peter Godwin zijn van de vergeten eighties-sound. Jo Lemaire en Phil Lynott zijn popklassiekers die iedereen zou moeten kennen. Kate Bush en Depeche Mode grote namen met voor beiden een weinig bekend maar bij mij sterk favoriet nummer. Chemise is een disco-clubclassic. Juice Newton was een van de weinige moderne countrynamen in die tijd (dit nummer was de opvolger van Queen of Hearts´) en Monsoon was voor mij de eerste alternatieve Wereldmuziekplaat, later nog vaak heruitgebracht, gesampled en gecovered.

Sheila Chandra van Monsoon maakte ooit een tune voor MTV.

Iko Iko kwam me ter ore tijdens het kijken naar de film The Skeleton Key (de originele versie van The Dixie Cups, maar daar schijnen ook weer twijfels over te bestaan) en ik herkende het. Via het Hitdossier kwam ik dus bij deze Natasha terecht en die versie vind ik leuker.
