Goed jaar, al had ik stiekem misschien net iets meer verwacht van Snowing. Nieuwe van Dillinger was dan weer een onverhoopt schot in de roos.

Ik begrijp het nu van ellenlange jaarlijsten niet zo. Wat zegt het nog dat een bepaalde plaat 46ste en een ander 47ste wordt? Ik kan me niet voorstellen dat je die platen nog veel hebt gedraaid. Ik heb zelf ook heel veel albums beluisterd, maar verder dan 30 platen die echt wat betekenden kwam ik niet.

O.K hier mijn definitieve top 10.

1.Laurie Anderson - Homeland


Dit album belichaamd in essentie alles wat ik mooi vind aan muziek. Laurie behandelt muziek als kunst en weet haar eigen stijl te crëeren. Hoewel het totaal andere muziek is, dan ik normaal beluister, weet deze 60 jaar oude dame te verassen met een actuele topplaat.


2. Motorpsycho-Heavy Metal Fruit


Stomende Spacerock van deze geniale band uit Noorwegen. Dit jaar leerde ik Motorpsycho kennen en ik heb er nog geen moment spijt van. Alles wijst erop dat deze band ooit bij mijn favorieten gaat horen. Sfeervolle mengelmoes van vele soorten muziekstijlen zonder een lappendeken te worden. Deze band schept zijn eigen mythologie

3.The national- High violet


Wat moet ik hier nou over typen. Muziek als een pijlpunt, weet me direct in mijn hart te raken. Af en toe doet de muziek me aan joy division denken, alleen dan een soort upgedate vorm. Publieksfavoriet hier op musicmeter en ik ga hier volledig in mee.

4. Ciccada- A Child In The Mirror.


onverwachts een geheel onbekende band in mijn top 10. De muziek van deze griekse band is veel rijker dan de economie van hun moederland. invloeden van Gentle giant, Jethro Tull en Griekse Volksmuziek, plus een geweldige vrouwelijke zanger. Een Must voor elke progliefhebber!

5.Gazpacho Missa Atropos


De kill your darlingsband van de progmuziek. Bombasme wordt haast tot het bot weggesneden. Een band die veel stijlmiddelen van Marrillion overgenomen lijkt te hebben. Niet zo goed als het meesterwerk Tick Tock, wel een geweldig conceptalbum vol met melodische symfo en natuurlijk die stem .

6. Sufjan Stevens- All Delighted People.


Nog een artiest die ik opeens dit jaar leerde kennen, Bombastische, ambiteuze folkmuziek. Alles kan groter moet hij gedacht hebben en met recht. Een artiest die mijn intresse in de eerste minuut vangt en vervolgens een uurlang in de houdgreep houdt. Van deze kerel wil ik meer horen.

7.Anathema- We Are Here Because We Are Here.


7 jaar wachten,maar het was het waard. Geniale muziek. Luchtiger als het voorgaande werk en dare I say minder geforceerd. Prima instapper in de wereld van Anethema. Geen slecht nummer te vinden op de meevaller van het jaar.

Goed er moest ooit eens een hiphopalbum komen in mijn jaarlijstje. Wat basel ik nou: dit is een geweldige cd. Geweldige gastartiesten, geniale raps en teksten waar jullie, U tegen moeten zeggen. Hip-hop is opeens hip geworden in huize Peerdeman, Jawohl!!!

Nu we toch bezig zijn met het ontdekken van verschillende genre´s, waarom niet gelijk aan de slag met Dancemuziek. Een genre waar ik normaal de kriebels van krijg haalt mijn toplijst dit jaar: het zou toch niet waar zijn?


10. Lunatic Soul - Lunatic Soul II


Lunatic soul is een project van de zanger van RIverside. Verwacht echter geen wervelende metal, maar melodieuze symfo met veel gevoel gemaakt. Prima keuze als hekkensluiter van deze top tien(al zeg ik het zelf).
