Acht nieuwe binnenkomers (mag het?), waarvan Not a Good Sign, The Gathering, London Grammar, Nemrud en Progenesi ook daadwerkelijk van vorig jaar zijn. Aimee Mann is wel een ontdekking van vorig jaar en Django Django en First Aid Kit hadden gewoon iets langer nodig om op hun plek te vallen.

Een en ander gaat ten koste van The Year of Hibernation (Youth Lagoon), Idioten (Kebnekajse), Valta (Alamaailman Vasarat), Dodecahedron (Daal), The Black Chord (Astra), Collapse into Now (R.E.M.), een tweede Anathema en een dito Beardfish (bij die laatste staat daar wel een mooie stijging van The Void tegenover).

Vorig jaar moest ik nog een aantal 3,5*-albums opnemen, dat was dit jaar niet meer nodig.

Opvallend dat je deze hoger aanslaat dan hun nieuwste worp, Demon.

Die laatste worp heb ik welgeteld één keer gehoord. Maakt een redelijke kans voor volgend jaar. Verder geloof ik dat ik Missa Atropos in vergelijking met anderen vrij hoog aansla: net achter Tick Tock, maar voor Night (te slepend) en voor March of Ghosts (te veel automatische piloot).

Je hebt nog anderhalve week om hem vaker te horen. Hij is echt beter dan MA! Nu staat MA bij mij zo'n onderaan als je het hebt over de albums vanaf Night.

Oef deze vind ik lastig, mede omdat het nog 'ongoing' is ook.. - de helft van de platen heeft bij mij nog niet genoeg gerijpt en de helft heb ik amper nog ontdekt .. maar ik zal een poging wagen (als het lukt)

Jammer dat er zo weinig 2014 genoemd wordt. Dit jaar is toch al bijna op de helft. Zelf vind ik 2014 vooralsnog een stuk beter dan 2013 en ik verwacht nu al meer 2014-platen dan 2013-platen in mijn lijstje.

Ieder zijn smaak natuurlijk, maar ik vond 2013 een prima jaar met uitstekende releases van o.a. gevestigde groepen. Van 2014 heb ik echter nog maar weinig gehoord dat me doet besluiten van daar wil ik meer van horen om zo het album erbij te halen. Misschien moet er nog een deel tot bij mij komen of is de 2de helft beter van 2014, maar voorlopig niet vind ik.

Vorig jaar heb ik gewoon een aantal albums uit 2013 in mijn lijst gezet. Ik heb voorlopig nog maar weinig goede albums uit 2014 ontdekt, maar er zullen er zeker een of twee in mijn lijst komen.

Albums uit 2014 zijn voor mij net zo min 'gerijpt' als albums uit 2012 en '13. Het is niet voor niets dat ik het fenomenale An Awesome Wave nog steeds niet in mijn top 10 heb staan.

Als ik naar jouw stemmen krijg, zie ik toch al goede albums uit 2014 in de vorm van Eels, Alcest, The Antlers, Anathema (die je zelf ook ontdekt hebt), Coldpaly en Gazpacho.

Maar het is inderdaad persoonlijk. Ik vond 2013 juist teleurstellend als het om de grote namen gaat. Alleen The National en Agnes Obel hebben mij echt niet teleurgesteld.
