Het was, net als bij de 60's-top 30, behoorlijk dringen - en dus vielen vele albums net buiten de boot. En dan te bedenken dat ik lang niet alles uit de zeventiger jaren goed genoeg ken. Het blijft een benadering natuurlijk.

De seventies: de jaren waarin ik naar muziek begon te luisteren, dus platen van jeugdsentiment, maar ook platen die ik opnieuw ben gaan waarderen en zelfs platen die ik indertijd gemist heb maar later alsnog ben tegengekomen. Een decennium waarnaar ik steeds terugkeer en waarin ik nog steeds nieuwe dingen ontdek. Als iemand mij ooit verteld had dat ik in een top-30 over de jaren 70 geen plaats zou kunnen inruimen voor Captain Beefheart, CSN&Y, ELO, Elton John, Gene Clark, Lou Reed, Deep Purple, Bruce Springsteen, de Who, Earth & Fire, de Doors, ELP, Black Sabbath, de Eagles, de Buzzcocks, Pink Floyd, Pere Ubu (Pere Ubu!
