Geen idee wat iedereen zo opwindend vindt aan Natalia Lafourcade. Buiten dat het Spaanstalig is, is dit toch gewoon vrij doorsnee en zelfs wat saai?

Bij De Todas las Flores zou ik die mening kunnen begrijpen (hoewel ik het er ook niet mee eens zou zijn), maar uitgerekend Muerte is lastig saai te noemen toch? Die uitbarsting op het eind is on-easy-listening genoeg dat ik al ben gevraagd wat anders op te zetten door m’n huisgenoten.

De uitslag is ongeveer het omgekeerde van wat mijn top 8 was, maar da's niet eens zo erg want ik vond het een ontstellend zwakke ladder.

De nieuwe ladder klinkt gelukkig veelbelovend op het eerste gehoor. Dat Face the Music-ding is fascinerend spul Coma Cat.

Ik vind Natalia Lafourcade normaal gesproken ook vrij saai, maar deze heeft voor het eerst in lange tijd punten van mij gehad - zit veel meer pit in dan normaal.

Verder bijzonder spijtig van Yo La Tengo en Vieux Farka Touré. Deze ladder stem ik morgen op.

I Saw van Young Fathers zou mijn tweede nominatie voor deze maand geweest zijn. Het was vooral de videoclip die me hem deed posten bij "Maak Kennis Met 2022", maar ondertussen is ook de song op zich blijven stijgen op mijn schaal der waardering. Goed dat Koenr me voor was bij 't nomineren, zo had ik nog een plaatsje voor Ren ... tevergeefs.
