Goed 10:00 uur en de kerst wint net. Als een moderator zoals panjoe, Casartelli of cosmic kid de titel zou kunnen aanpassen in Greatest Hits of Kerstmis, zou dat heel fijn zijn. Alvast bedankt!

Voor degen die toch wat yacht rock willen met de kerst. Op HBO wordt sinds een paar weken Music Box: Yacht Rock: A Dockumentary uitgezonden. Een aardig inkijkje in de wereld van de yacht rock. In de Dockumentary wordt een vrij scherpe definitie van yacht rock geïntroduceerd. Om te bepalen of iets wel of niet yacht rock is hebben de mannen zelfs een yacht rock meter gemaakt Yacht or Nyacht? en daar hebben ze ook een certified yacht rock playlist bij gemaakt (misschien een idee om ook zo iets voor de Nederwave te maken Poek?).

Voor hier: kersthits. Precies drie jaar geleden organiseerde EvilDrSmith een alternatieve xmas Greatest Hits. Dat is precies het tegenovergesteld van wat we nu gaan doen. Hij schreef toen "Voor iedereen die het leuk vindt voor een frisse wind in kerstmuziekland en iets anders wil horen dan Mariah Carey, Wham!, Band Aid, Slade, Bing Crosby, Chris Rea, Flappie en al die andere afgekloven kerstevergreens". En hij introduceerde DE HARDE REGEL: het nummer mag niet, ik herhaal NIET in deze lijst voorkomen: Sky Christmas Top 50 en daar kunnen bij Q Music Kerst Top 40 en de Kerst Top 40 van de top40.nl

Hier geldt zo ongeveer het omgekeerde. Een nummer moet in de Sky/Qmusic Radio Kerst Top 50 voor kunnen komen. Hoeft er niet per se in te staan maar zou wel kunnen. Dus geen kersthits van AC/DC etc. Verder zijn zoals altijd de grenzen vaag. Maar kersthits uit de top 40 en andere commerciële lijsten zijn prima. Je kunt momenteel stemmen op de nieuwe Kerst Top 40 en dan merk je dat er nog veel meer goedgekeurd wordt dan al in de lijst van vorig jaar staat. Stemmen Op Qmusic Kerst Top 40 2024

Onder het motto je bent alternatief of je bent het niet zijn de winnaars van de alternatieve X-mas Greatest Hits sowieso uitgesloten van deelname. Dus Pogues & Kirsty MacColl - Fairytale in New York, Joni Mitchell - River en Tom Waits - Christmas Card from a Hooker in Minneapolis mogen niet genomineerd worden. Zo voorkomen we bovendie dat The Pogues weer winnen aERodynamIC.
