Rush pakt hier met gemak de hoofdprijs met dit mooie nummer waarin de kwaliteiten van de band(leden) goed naar voren komen: het typische basspel van Geddy Lee, het heerlijke ritmegitaartje van Alex Lifeson, het strakke drumwerk van Neil Peart en dat alles in een interessante compositie met dito tekst: Topband !

De rest van de strijd is lastiger en gaat tussen PT, Throes of Dawn, CBP en m'n eigen nominatie van dit jaar van Karcius.
Na lang wikken en wegen laat ik met pijn in het hart PT vallen, krijgt Throes of Dawn 3 punten, Karcius 2 en CBP 1.
Het ontloopt elkaar echter niet veel en in een andere loting hadden enkele van deze nummers zeker hoger gescoord; maar dat is het spel...

Heel sterke ladder inderdaad. Dit nummer van Haken heb ik een aantal maand geleden live mogen aanschouwen. Wat een ervaring was dat zeg, met name dat refrein ("soaring through the sky ...") is echt fenomenaal en zeer kippenvelopwekkend!
