En we hebben een (vrijwel) onbetwiste winnaar. Lang geleden dat er zoveel consensus was bij een artiesten KO

Verrassende winnaar, had niet verwacht dat ie zo over This is a Low heen zou lopen. Maar wel een heel heel mooie plaat. Dank voor deze KO, Arrie!

2-10 (mooi nummer The Universal, maar sleept iets teveel imo).

Eén van de mooiste nummers van Blur, zou bij mij ook in een top3 komen, weet even niet of hij ook op één zou staan..

Enige nummer waar The Universal wat moeite mee had is There's No Other Way waar ie 8-6 van gewonnen had. Finale, halve finale, en kwartfinale allemaal met overmacht gewonnen dus het lijkt me duidelijk. Prachtige winnaar!

Fijne KO Arrie, eens te meer duidelijk hoe ontzettend veel goede nummers deze band heeft gemaakt!

Bij aanvang van het spel dacht ik nog: als The Universal maar niet wint... Altijd een a-typisch Blur nummer gevonden, met best een mooi, theatraal refrein maar over het geheel te slepend, zoals Divart al opmerkte. Zowel tegen There's No Other Way, To The End, This is a Low als End of a Century was het er bij mij uitgevlogen, maar de overmacht was imponerend, dus een zeer terechte winnaar.

The Universal sleept inderdaad een beetje, maar dat doen End of a Century, La Comedie, This is a Low en nog wat van die trage nummers toch ook? Ik houd daar wel van. Al mag ik de uptempo Blur ook heel graag horen. Toch wel een hele, hele goede band, eigenlijk.

Wel een bijzonder zwakke opponent rekening houdend met dat dit de finale is voor The Universal

Weer een leuke!

Om te beginnen, hoe krijg ik de titel van het KO aangepast?

Een moderator PM'en.

Ik pas hem al aan.

Ok. Ik aarzel tussen 64 en 128 nummers, gezien het immense oeuvre. Aan de andere kant, ik denk dat ik het solowerk maar laat zitten

Ik verwacht een finale tussen Go Your Own Way en Oh Well

Ennuh... 128 nummers, hoe meer hoe beter.

Ik had mij voorgehouden een heel inleidend verhaal te houden, aan de andere kant, misschien is het juist aardig iedereen in het ongewisse te houden inzake de achtergrond van de plaat. Wie dus wat in welk tijdstip heeft geschreven en wanneer het is opgenomen: ik laat dat over aan ieder zijn eigen kennis.

Desalniettemin: het betreffen nummers uit de bluesperiode, de Amerikaanse periode met Bob Welch en natuurlijk ook de beroemde Rumours samenstelling en volgende line ups. Dan staan er toch ook een paar overbekende solo bestsellers in.

Verder is alles sowieso geen verrassing, veelal op single verschenen. Om tot het aantal van 64 te komen heb ik nog een paar favoriete FM nummers gekozen, vooral bekend van de live-uitvoeringen.

Een paar dingen weet ik niet van het schema: moet ik bepalen wanneer er weer een nieuwe wedstrijd komt? Is het elke keer de best of 9 o.i.d. of onbeperkt? Na ronde 32 zal ik wel de volgende indeling maken, in ieder geval.

Moet er nog over de keuzes worden gediscussieerd, staan er fouten in of ben ik opzienbarende nummers vergeten?
