We houden de vaart erin en gaan snel verder met het jaar 1984, mijn geboortejaar. Ik heb een goed jaar uitgekozen om ter wereld te komen, want het was een sterk jaar voor de muziek. Ook voor Ronald Reagan, die blijft nog een aantal jaartjes langer president. Minder voor Marvin Gaye, want die stierf. Doodgeschoten door zijn eigen vader, nota bene. En in tegenstelling tot wat een zekere Engelse schrijver 25 jaar eerder beweerde, is de aarde nog heel goed leefbaar in 1984.
