Bah, op 11, dat doe je expres.

Nick Cave heb ik de afgelopen 4 weken elke week wel een keer geprobeerd. Voor mij heeft hij in ieder geval nog een bekende naam uit het verre verleden, vandaar dat ik hem er dan toch weer bij haalde. Maar elke keer eindigde hij als tip 6 of zo, net niet voldoende voor mijn lijst. Ik ga het toch nog een keer een kans geven. Maar je hebt gelijk, soms moet iets wat langer rijpen...

Het aantal keren dat een clip bekeken is op Youtube zegt toch iets over populariteit? Soms kom ik een clip tegen met slechts enkele honderden of duizenden "bezoekers". Zoals de arme Nadia Nair. Toch een alleraardigst nummer. Misschien is het net nieuw en net geplaatst.

Jubilee street van Nick Cave heeft een ijzersterk einde, je moet het nummer alleen wel helemaal afluisteren (hoewel 6 en een halve minuut) en je niet beperken tot een impressie. Dat is misschien wel de oorzaak dat het nummer bij veel mensen even moet "vallen", in ieder geval bij mij.

*kijkt naar mijn nummer 11 en dan naar mijn nummer 1 en denkt dat kemm niet te klagen heeft*

Jamaar, ook weer veel te laat, hé. Hoe kunnen al die topnummers nu potten gaan breken in de lijst?

dat ligt niet aan mij, dat is de schuld van andere mensen die het niet oppikken.

De Palma Violets blijven op 1 staan. Daarachter is het dringen. Allemaal fantastische nummers. Het aanstekelijke Show Me Where The Bullets Go is de hoogste binnenkomer. Daar kan ik echt niet stil op blijven zitten.

Little Boots ken ik als die artieste die mijn laagste uitgedeelde stem op haar conto heeft staan. Een 1,5. Laatst zag ik dat ze een nieuw nummer had uitgebracht en een of andere vreemde kracht dwong mij om dat nummer te gaan beluisteren. Motorway sloeg meteen aan dus deze aanstekelijke en mysterieuze electropopsong komt daarom binnen op 4.

Samen met de laatste nieuwe Chvrches slaat zij meteen een gaatje met de rest. Niet dat die nummers per se slechter zijn, maar ze zijn al flink aan slijtage onderhevig. De nieuwigheid is er al vanaf en dat is iets wat in mijn Afrekening minstens even zwaar weegt als pure kwaliteit.

De tweede en laatste nieuwe binnenkomer is een re-entry. De afgelopen weken zakte Still steeds verder weg, maar nu ik het hele album van Daughter een paar keer gehoord heb ben ik weer helemaal in de stemming. Pure pracht.

Houd in mijn tiplijst trouwens Laura Welsh in de gaten. Ik weet niet of de wereld op een nieuwe (of extra) Jessie Ware zit te wachten, maar zo ja, dan kan zij het wel eens ver gaan schopppen.

San Francisco van Foxygen mag nog een weekje op 1, omdat ik het nummer nog altijd niet ben beugehoord. Voor mij echt het beste nummer van het jaar tot nu toe. De grootste stijger is een andere band met een ander nummer met dezelfde titel. Uniek!

Tsja, Stuck on Repeat. Dat is wel een leuk nummer, maar de rest van het album is toch een stuk minder. Ik vond het nogal goedkoop klinken eigenlijk, maar ik moet bekennen dat het een hele tijd geleden is dat ik Hands voor het laatst heb beluisterd.

Ik heb Hands nog nooit beluisterd, eigenlijk alleen de EP Arecibo en de losse singles die uitkwamen. Dat de rest van Hands minder is, geloof ik. Veel van dit soort artiesten moeten het toch maar van de singles hebben. Every Night I Say A Prayer vind ik ook een supernummer. Ik geloof dat het nieuwe album wat meer de dancekant opgaat, als ik zie wie er bij betrokken zijn (o.a. iemand van Hot Chip dacht ik).

Alle 3 de liedjes uit de vorige tiplijst haalden deze week de top 20: Haim, Villagers (al 3de single van hun nieuwste album die de top 20 haalt) en Apparat. Chvrches ook al met hun 3de single denk ik? The Mowgli’s komen ook nieuw binnen. Verdwenen zijn Until The Ribbon Breaks (opnieuw), Rival Sons, Exit Calm, Foals (iets mindere prestatie dan hun vorige single maar nog altijd goed want stond 8 weken in de afrekening) en Jacco Gardner (die maar 5 weken in de lijst stond maar wel 2 weken op 1) . James Blake is stevig leider voor The Irrepressibles, maar moet misschien wel opletten van Junip die als een sneltrein van plaats 19 naar 3 ging. Ook The Black Angels doen een mooie sprong in de stand van 11 naar 4 en dat in hun 7de week.
