De heerlijk dance van The Juan Maclean en het enorm beklemmende liedje (vrij heftig wel, vooral dat intro) van Soap&Skin heb ik allebei uit het Song van het Jaar 2013-topic gepikt, mooie ontdekkingen. Ik wou me altijd al eens wat meer verdieven in Soap&Skin dus dit is een extra trigger.
Verder Q.U.E.E.N., naar mijn idee heeft dit alles in zich om een grote hit te worden, heerlijk geproduceerd, aanstekelijk refrein. Kwam erop via iemands (Dwejkk_, mocht ie hier lezen) Facebook, echt ontzettend lekker nummer!
Kelis pakt de nummer 1-positie, want ook voor mij is het m'n meestgedraaide nummer van de week. Wat is Kelis toch een leuke zangeres, qua singles. Altijd erg fijn geproduceerd, en altijd opvallend.

Disclosure pakt hun volgende #1-hit met You & Me (White Noise stond 4 weken op 1). Daft Punk daalt al na de eerste week, voornamelijk door de enorme overkill. Rumah komt binnen op 5, een nummer dat je speakers uit knalt. Ook de twee pittige dames Janelle Monáe en Erykah Badu komen hoog binnen. Major Lazer staat al drie weken met twee nummers in de Top 20, wat maken zij toch enorm catchy muziek. Afscheid is er o.a. genomen van Joey Bada$$, hij stond acht weken in de lijst. In de tiplijst komen James Holden en Jon Hopkins binnen op de eerste twee plekken.

Leuk dat Juan MacLean toch nog wordt opgepakt door wat mensen.

Stond er bij mij een tijd geleden al eens een keertje in, maar recent passeerde het nogmaals in het Song van het Jaar-topic. Om het een herontdekking te noemen is echter wat vroeg.

Tipjes voor volgende keer (ook voor mezelf, zodat ik ze niet vergeet):
*Pusha T - Numbers on the Board (met een sterke productie van Kanye)
*Bass Drum of Death - Shattered Me (beetje lo-fi garagerock)
*Pearson Sound - REM (euhm, electronica)
*Coely - All I Do (Belgische femcee met toegankelijke refreintjes)

Die van Jon Hopkins is ook erg vet. Vooral die switch rond 6.03 komt heel erg onverwacht.

Ik ben echt ondersteboven van Ya Hey, wat een magistraal popnummer! Het bevat veel van de klassieke elementen met zijn mooie melodieën, maar het klinkt tegelijk ook heel fris en eigentijds. Hun singles waren altijd wel tof, maar dit had ik niet direct in Vampire Weekend gezien, straf! Verder moet Meltdown dringend in ere hersteld worden, die tot nu wat onderaan de top 10 bleef hangen. Dat was dus gebaseerd op de single/video-versie, maar in de volledige albumversie komt dit nummer er veel sterker uit.
