Gregory Alan Isakov - Living Proof: singer-songwriter folk van hoog niveau.
Cold Mailman - My Recurring Dream: meerstemmige Scandinavische folk, helemaal van deze tijd.
Fanfarlo - Myth of Myself (A Ruse to Exploit Our Weaknesses): georchestreerde pop
Vance Joy - Riptide: zomerse folk met lichte popinvloeden.
Phosphorescent - Ride On / Right On: zeer geslaagde combinatie van roots/americana met elektronica

2 mooie nieuwe binnenkomers deze week: Fiona's nummer kende ik al een tijdje maar als single herontdekt, ondersteunt met een prachtige clip. Zo komt ie beter tot zijn recht dan achteraan weggestopt op haar album. Civil Wars kan ik heel erg stil van worden. Dat vind ik nu eenmaal hele mooie muziek. Het wrange is dat er een klein burgeroorlogje gevoerd wordt tussen de twee bandleden. Het enthousiasme spat er dan ook af in de clip.

Midlake is misschien wel mijn favoriete band van de laatste 10 jaar; wat kunnen ze toch prachtige muziek maken! Deze nieuwe track klinkt minder pastoraal en bedachtzaam, maar juist groovier, maar gelukkig nog steeds ongelofelijk melodieus. Een binnenkomst op 6 is overigens het hoogste sinds ik weer een top 20 maak (anderhalf jaar).

Bij mij ook

All the Days is inderdaad een goed nummer. Voorlopig ben ik er behoorlijk enthousiast over en vind ik dat het zeker kan tippen aan Wings.

Ik vind All the Days zelfs nog een stapje beter dan Wings, goed dat steeds meer mensen het oppakken!

Ik zie Midlake ook opduiken. Volgens mij geen echte single maar die scheidslijn is soms wat dunnetjes dus die zet ik er volgende week ook maar gewoon tussen.

Weer terug van vakantie, heb nog weinig nieuwe muziek geluisterd. Kan haast niet wachten om alle lijstjes weer door te lopen. Wel hier mijn laatste Top-20:
