Wel zo grappig dat dan vandaag de Golden Animals binnenkomen, het zij ze van hart gegund. Het is één van de drie nieuwe bands die ik deze week heb leren kennen. Naast een prachtige single van Turin Brakes en Blues Pills.

De posities zijn dan nog niet zo hoog, maar ze moesten 7 nummers uit de lijst wegwerken voor een notitie mogelijk was, dus dat maakt dat er met respect naar kan worden geluisterd.

The Boxer Rebellion, White Lies, Jonathan Wilson en Stevie Nicks verschijnen met weer eens een nieuwe single. Nicks (65) is het schrijven van goede songs, zo blijkt, nog lang niet verleerd. Ze doet hier een soundtrack voor de film Sound City, gemaakt door Dave Grohl. Over het verdwijnen van de gelijknamige studio, waar inderdaad ooit ook Fleetwood Mac heeft opgenomen.

Waarom Steve Hackett (behalve gebrekkig live) nog niet door iemand op youtube is gezet, is mij een raadsel. Ik speel het nu af via zijn laatste album maar die versie kan ik helaas niemand laten horen. Misschien komt dat nog eens, dat ik op musicmeter een track van mijn eigen muziek kan uploaden zodat iedereen het hier kan afluisteren.

Een verzameling singles die mijn lijst net niet gehaald hebben of er net uit zijn verdwenen. De lekkerste tip van deze week is Planningtorock's herinterpretatie van Full of Fire van The Knife. Gelukkig is het origineel amper meer te herkennen in deze ontspannen en aanstekelijke dancetrack.
Ook de indie van On an On is erg aangenaam. Ghosts is een rustgevend indie/shoegazenummer, maar is zeker niet saai. We hebben hier namelijk wel met een degelijke rockband van doen.

Ik heb stijgers en zelfs nieuwe entrees van vorige week moeten vervangen om slechts vier nieuwe nummers toe te kunnen laten.
Hopeloos, ik had wel 15 tips om in de top 25 te zetten. En dan kan de eerste pas binnen komen op 20.

Ik moet wel zeggen, dat ik meer van het gitaargeweld hou van Buddy Guy dan dat hij juist één van de rustpunten van zijn nieuwe cd kiest als single. Maar misschien vinden veel mensen die rustpunten meer geslaagd.

Het kwartje van Elephant Stone is deze week na een paar keer draaien echt gevallen. Prachtige single, er zijn nog wel een paar nummers die laag beginnen en dan lekker doorstijgen.
Hopelijk geldt het ook voor de nieuwe single van Garland Jeffreys (prachtige FM rock) en ook grandioze nummers van Exit Calm en Hidden Camera's, enfin, ze voerden dan ook de lijst van 15 nieuwe tips aan.

Dat nummer van The Florist is fijn zeg! Eindelijk weer eens echt rocknummer (dan bedoel ik dus geen blije 3fm-rock of luchtige indie) dat het goed kan gaan doen in mijn lijst.

Is alweer naar nummer 20 gezakt, dus kan wel punten gebruiken
