Grappige nieuwe singles. Van Adam Cohen had ik nog nooit gehoord, totdat deze week zijn nieuwe single van zijn nieuwe album uitkwam, ik hoorde dat hij de zoon was van en hij gelijk een concert aankondigde in Amsterdam. Daar hou ik van, geen halve maatregelen.

Steven Wilson laat het opnieuw uitbrengen van zijn album Covers begeleid worden door de track The Day before you came, inderdaad een cover van Abba. Ach, je moet maar zo denken, zo kan het tenminste ook nog klinken.

Dan sterke rocksongs van Seether, Linkin Park en Pearl Jam. Oscar was deze week de revue al gepasseerd. Chrissie Hynde heeft een prima tweede single van haar nieuwe album en ten slotte..... nieuw werk van Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers. Dat mag ik uiteraard graag horen

The Bohicas: stonden laatst op London Calling. Britpop op een beat die van Can of Neu! had kunnen zijn.
Roising Murphy: fraaie italopop met een instrumentaal downtempo disco-outro van twee minuten
David Douglas: ook al uit Nederland, Utrecht om precies te zijn. Electronische pop die me doet denken aan Thomas Azier. Mooie video ook!

Wat mooie en stemmige muziek aan binnenkomers die op de een of andere manier wel bij deze avond passen.

Mirel Wagner is echt prachtig, net als de wat stevigere Bad Suns.
Ben Watt heeft ook prachtig drama. Ik zie dat hij net zo oud is als ik en er 31 jaar over heeft gedaan om met een 2e solo album te komen. Dan heb je toch de tijd gehad om er iets moois van te maken, zou ik zeggen. En ik geloof dat hij dat ook gedaan heeft, hoewel ik alleen kan oordelen over Forget.
