113. Better Days had zo in de top 40 kunnen staan. En dat bedoel ik niet per se negatief. Maar de beladen pianotonen en de altijd zo gevoelige snaren van de viool zijn wel typisch voor een ballade die je terug zou vinden in de top 40. Zal het ongetwijfeld halen. Maar Your Good Thing (Is About To End) maakt meer indruk op mij. Het venijn waarmee Mable zingt is vanzelfsprekend als je weet dat het nummer gebaseerd is op een situatie die zij heeft meegemaakt. De klassieker van Roy Ayers moet absoluut door. Ain't No Mountain High Enough heb ik altijd al een draak van een nummer gevonden, maar gaat het vast halen. Life is te olijk.

114. Het nummer van Adrian Younge komt beter tot zijn recht als je 'm luistert als deel van de plaat.

115. Pas! Ik gebruik geen spotify waardoor ik het nummer van Eugene McDaniels niet kan beluisteren.

116. Darondo wordt vaak vergeleken met Al Green - maar dan op crack. Waar Al zonder veel opsmuk zingt over de liefde, zingt Darondo over het verlangen naar liefde. Teder, maar tegelijkertijd zo puur dat het een beetje opbreekt. Rauw, zeg maar. Het is daardoor niet voor iedereen weggelegd, maar ik vind het geweldig.

115. Een schitterende en een goede song, een vrij goed nummer en twee duidelijke afvallers.
116. Eigenlijk geen enkele afvaller, hoe moet ik hier nu weer de punten verdelen…
Gizelle kende ik al, een lekkere groove voor vier punten. Unchain My Heart was dus niet origineel van Cocker, mooi nummer van Ray dat er drie krijgt. Terry Callier dacht ik eerst punloos te laten maar dat nummer komt (weliswaar wat langzaam) toch erg mooi tot bloei, 2 punten. Take Me To The River, ook vooral bekend van de covers krijgt het restpunt omdat ik blazertjes toch vaak wel gezellig vind. Helaas voor Daronda, prima nummer ook. Alle nummers had ik in menig ladder 3 of 4 punten kunnen geven.
