Ik sluit me aan, dank voor je werk tot nu toe! Op naar ronde 2.

We hadden vorige editie uiteindelijk een top600. In Ronde 1 begonnen we met deze 600 nummers en nog 400 extra nominaties. Na deze eerste ronde zijn er maar liefst 165 nummers gesneuveld uit de top600 van de vorige Editie. Dat komt neer op een percentage van 27,5%. Dat vind ik persoonlijk een erg hoog percentage. Hoe zien jullie dat?

Wat zijn we nu dan kwijt?
- 1 t/m 100: 0 songs
- 101 t/m 200: 25 songs (15,15%)
- 201 t/m 300: 22 songs (13,33%)
- 301 t/m 400: 35 songs (21,21%)
- 401 t/m 500: 30 songs (18,18%)
- 501 t/m 600: 53 songs (32,12%)

Dat betekent dus vooral songs die in de vorige Editie ook in de laatste 100 zaten. Dat valt te verklaren. Maar ook hier vind ik het percentage dat in de hoogste groep zit met afvallers (top200 zeg maar) in verhouding weer erg groot. Hoe zien jullie dit?


Zijn er dan ook specifiek artiesten aan te wijzen die we veelvuldig verloren zijn? Zeker! Hieronder een klein overzicht van de top:

Geen Percy Sledge meer in de lijst? Jammer.

Ik kan niet alle afvallers meteen voor de geest halen, maar de buiteling van plek 140 naar de uitgang van "Greg Perry - Come On Down" vind ik opvallend. Dat nummer had van mij wel in de lijst gemogen. Overigens goed kans dat andere nummers van Greg Perry er min of meer voor in de plaats zijn gekomen.



Factoren:
- de loting bepaalt sowieso voor een groot deel de kansen om in de lijst te komen *
- kleine groep stemmers, één stemmer meer of juist minder geeft al een andere uitslag
- de kleine groep stemmers is daarnaast anders van samenstelling dan vorig jaar

(* impact van zware/lichte loting zou je eventueel kunnen ondervangen door in de volgende editie de top-100 vrij te loten; dan strijden de "best-of-the-rest" samen met de nieuwe nominaties een meer gelijke strijd al zul je altijd variatie in "ladder-sterkte" houden alsook de andere factoren die daarbij een rol spelen)

1. Aaron Neville - Tell It Like It Is, ach die vind ik zo moooooooooooi en hij is niet meer in de lijst
2. Erykah Badu - Certainly, die had ook wel door gemogen van mij.

Vooral Percy Sledge, James Brown - Say It Loud! I'm Black and I'm Proud en Prince - Sometimes It Snows In April vind ik erg jammer.

Dit is een overweging waard, maar heb ik al niet gedaan bij Ronde 2. Dus dat ik dit voor deze editie ga wijzigen is niet aannemelijk. Maar het is zeker iets voor een latere editie (als die komt). Bedankt voor het meedenken.

Nee natuurlijk niet voor deze editie, maar voor volgende editie is de "prijs" van top-100 (eventueel) alvast plaatsing voor ronde 2. Is gewoon één van de opties om de ladders iets meer gelijkwaardig te maken.

Zeker een goede optie. Heb dat nu al geprobeerd door de top100 van Editie1 niet bij elkaar in de ladders te laten komen in Ronde1 (gewogen loting). Maar kan dat eventueel verder trekken inderdaad.

Patches is misschien wel de meest betreurenenswaardige afvaller (voor mij persoonlijk).

Ik vind het van heel veel nummers heel jammer dat ze niet door zijn. Ik vind ook ongeveer 85% van de nummers die voorbij gekomen zijn goed. Toch zijn er verschillende nummers wél door die ik liever in het lijstje met gesneuvelden had teruggezien. Onderstaande lijst zou wat mij betreft zeker in de volgende ronde thuishoren:

Dit zijn alleen de afvallers die de vorige keer in de top600 stonden, neem ik aan?

Dat heb je juist.

Voor een volgende editie is het misschien iets om de bijvoorbeeld Stevie Wonder, James Brown, Bill Withers, Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gaye, Sam Cooke, Al Green, Curtis Mayfield, Otis Redding en Ray Charles buiten de lijst te laten of een aparte lijst der groten op te stellen. Dan is er meer ruimte voor ontdekkingen.

Maar dit is waarschijnlijk te drastisch. Een andere optie is het aantal nummers per artiest terug te brengen naar 3.

Voor mijn gevoel is het aantal deelnemers nu iets hoger en wordt er meer commentaar (alhoewel wisselend) bij de ladders geschreven. Dat is natuurlijk enkel goed.
Ik denk dat (door het hogere aantal deelnemers) de top 600 er straks heel erg anders uit gaat zien (behalve misschien de top 20). Dat zou in ieder geval de afvallers tot nu toe voor een deel verklaren. Wat ik zeker merk is dat de smaken van de deelnemers heel erg uiteenlopen. Je zou af en toe bijna vergeten dat er hier alleen soulliefhebbers stemmen.

De grote namen er helemaal uitfilteren zie ik persoonlijk niet zo zitten. Een maximum aantal nummers per artiest bepalen is zeker een optie die meegenomen kan worden naar wellicht een latere editie.

Het deelnemersaantal is inderdaad wat groter dan de vorige keer, dat zorgt voor wat verschuivingen omdat een aantal nieuwe deelnemers qua smaak wat meer verwijderd zijn van het gangbare in Editie 1. Dat verklaart wellicht ook het hoge aantal uitvallers.

Met de commentaren juich ik toe. Ik zie dit als een Ladder waarin je de tijd kan nemen de nummers te overdenken. Een ladder zonder tijdsdruk (al hebben we een deadline) en een ladder waarin iedereen (mits er tijd is) wat extra's wil stoppen. Erg leuk!

Terug naar 3 per artiest is wel heel drastisch, maar een maximum lijkt me zeker zinvol. Als tussenweg voor "de aparte lijst der groten" zou je eventueel rondes per grote artiest kunnen spelen waarvan er per artiest een maximum aantal (10 of zo) direct doorgaan naar ronde 2, ongeacht het aantal meedingende nummers van een artiest. De rest valt dan af, maar dan houd je alleen de sterkste nummers per artiest over die ook echt in de lijst horen en deze "grote" artiesten verzwaren daarmee niet de ladders in ronde 1.

Hm, ik ben niet zo'n voorstander van geplaatste liedjes (op basis vh verleden).
Dit is toch een spel in toernooivorm met een loting, ieder liedje moet maar voorzich zelf vechten, valt het af was het gewoon niet goed genoeg.
Het moet ook geen streven zijn om ieder jaar dezelfde liedjes in de finale te krijgen, lijkt mij zo.
Maar dit is ook maar een mening.

Rudi S: Ik snap wel wat je bedoelt, maar aan de andere kant bestaat de kans anders dat sommige ladders heel sterk en andere weer juist erg matig zijn. Dan krijg je op basis van geluk weer dat "verkeerde" nummers doorgaan / afvallen.

Variabele stemsleutel, je mag zelf bepalen hoe je je 10 punten verdeeld.
bv. 4, 3, 2, 1 of 6, 3, 1 of 4, 4, 2 of van mijn part 1x 10

Het moet zeker geen streven worden om naar dezelfde finale toe te werken. Het gaat bij vrijstelling niet echt om het bevoordelen van bepaalde nummers/artiesten, maar om de ladders in ronde 1 eerlijker/gelijkwaardig te maken. Je kunt nu pech/geluk hebben met het meedoen/ontbreken van zwaargewichten in een ladder. Dat maakt andere nummers in de ladder - ongeacht goed of slecht - meer kansloos. Als in een ladder twee of drie zwaargewichten zijn geloot maken andere nummers vrijwel geen kans om door te komen.

Als zwaargewichten toch sowieso doorgaan is een vrijstelling ook amper een bevoordeling. Finale zullen nieuwe/onbekendere songs waarschijnlijk niet halen maar nu heb je bij de 600 nog steeds zwakke songs (die geluk hadden) en ontbreken sterke songs (die pech hadden). Bij een top-600 streef je naar een sterke totaallijst en concurrentie om wel/niet in de finale te komen is er vanaf ronde 2 toch nog genoeg.

We hebben het dan wel over "zwakkere" nummers. Maar die zijn in deze twee ladders duidelijk nog niet te vinden. Wat een moeilijke keuze was dit zeg!

principal2000 en Salvadore ik begrijp jullie roep om "kwaliteit"natuurlijk wel, maar ik zelf vind dat door het spel ellement (noem het geluk) wordt het wel onvoorspelbaarder / aantrekkelijker.
Niet dat ik nu zo'n grote voorkeur voor het ene of andere format heb, uiteindelijk wordt het toch een soort van survival of the fittest.

tweede ronde is meteen al heel lastig! Eigenlijk allemaal goede nummers!
