Superwoman toont de klasse van Keys, krachtig en breekbaar tegelijkertijd. Stand blijft ook een klassieker, de overigen kunnen me vrijwel gestolen worden. Deze Going Back to My Roots veegt de vloer met die platte discostomper van Oddysey. Laura Lee veegt dan weer geen vloeren meer, getuige deze heerlijke female anthem. Ook de anderen zijn gewoon goed, maar Al blijft het meest in de standaard hangen.

Maar 8 stemmers op de vorige ladders , begint het nu al weer in te kakken???

Ladder 41 is een sterke ladder met een prachtige van Donny als hoogtepunt. Jill wint het net van The 3 Pieces.

Ladder 42 is ook leuk met Merry Clayton als mooie ontdekking, gaat op de verlanglijst!!!

Ik heb het razend druk deze tijd maar ik probeer alsnog (bijna) elke dag te stemmen.

Ladder 41 geeft ons een heerlijk stukje muziek van Toussaint. Juist de instrumentale B-side van de Whisper to a Scream LP maakt deze voor mij zo goed. De rest doet me iets minder. Geen van alle slecht (Di Melo bevalt me beter dan verwacht) maar ook geen hoogvliegers.
Ladder 42 wordt beheerst door drie vrouwen, wat erachter zit is een heel stuk minder.

In Ladder 41 dwingt de smerige taal mij tot het geven van 1 punt aan Allen. Het scheelt dat hij zijn mond houdt. Dat maakt dit nummer gelijk best wel okay. Verder een fantastische 3 Pieces en Jill.
In ladder 42 1 topper en een leuk nummer van Eddie. De rest hoefde eigenlijk geen punten te krijgen van mij.

41. The 3 Pieces, nieuw voor mij en ritmisch erg fijn. Toussaint en Hathaway zijn degelijk, Jill Scott wel aardig maar mag best stranden en dat geldt helemaal voor Di Melo.

42. Drie sterke nummers: een fantastische Merry Clayton, wat een stem, energie, power etc., heerlijk! Een fijn opbouwend Kendricks nummer en ook nog Clean Up Woman, ook een favoriet van mij. De nummers van Roberta en Percy hoeven van mij niet.

Ladder 41: Ik maak protest, omdat jullie de Braziliaanse melancholie van Di Melo niet kunnen begrijpen.

Ladder 42: Ik snap niet waarom Clean Up Woman beter zou zijn dan pak-hem-beet een ander willekeurig nummer van pak-hem-beet een ander willekeurige zangeres. Nee, geef mij dan maar Southern Man, want Merry zingt tenminste met pit. En dan nog Percy Sledge die hier zelden worden gewaardeerd. Het is ook jammer dat het linkje niet naar de juiste Warm and Tender Love verwijst, namelijk deze, met dat heerlijke orgelgeluid. Enfin, jullie kunnen vinden wat jullie vinden, maar ik verdubbel de punten. Dat verdient Percy!
