Ladder 57: Norman Connors en Teena Marie zijn gelijkwaardig. De rest kan me minder bekoren. Ik heb nu eenmaal niks met Terry Callier en ik ben bang dat het ook nooit wat gaat worden. Willie gaat waarschijnlijk "sympathie-punten" krijgen, want tjsah, charmant zo, lekker rommelig met de gitaar, maar dan vind ik Right On For The Darkness specialer. Het nummer van James is - los van de context - ook niet zo bijzonder.

Ladder 58: Allemaal wel goed te doen. Degelijke ladder waarbij ik niet echt een voorkeur kan uitspreken.

57. Goede ladder met een mooie ontdekking van Candyman Terry Callier, heerlijke sound, spanning in de opbouw/muziek en sterke zang. Teena, Willie en Norman bevallen ook wel, min of meer gelijkwaardig.
58. Een flink aantal niveaus minder. De video van Greg Perry geeft amper geluid, met een andere link klinkt het al beter, krijgt van mij het maximum. Marvin pakt er drie met name door te weinig concurrentie want de rest mag afvallen.

Ladder 57 is erg sterk. Dat blijkt al wanneer een iconisch (in mijn ogen niet zozeer extreem goed, maar dat terzijde) nummer als Say It Out Loud geen punten krijgt. Dit nummer van Terry vind ik waarschijnlijk zijn beste, maar de 2 andere nummers zijn gewoon frisser en leuker. Uptempo Teena wint het van het mooie, rustige nummer van Norman. Maar het zijn beide fantastische nummers.
Ladder 58 is ook wel lekker, maar niet van hetzelfde niveau als ladder 57. Greg kan bij mij bijna altijd op veel punten rekenen. ook Marvin's nummer vind ik prachtig. Daarna enkel leuke nummers die wel een stuk minder dan die andere 2 zijn. Eddie heeft de pech om puntenloos achter te blijven.

Leuk nummer

Wat is dat nou. Staat het er in het begin goed voor, komen opeens een paar stemmers achter elkaar die dan geen punten geven aan mijn nominatie, en juist een nummer dat ver achter staat opeens +4'tjes gaan geven. Maar dat mag dan weer niet helpen. Dat was vorige keer ook al zo met Solomon. Pfft. Er valt hier ook niks te voorspellen zo! Snel maar weer vergeten en aan de volgende ladders. Stelletje doerakkers hierzo.

Komt helaas vaak voor, ik denk dat de eerste stemmers de echte kenners zijn

(nu had ik Norman maar 1 punt gegeven terwijl ik het best een leuk nummer vind maar het is een redelijk gelijkwaardige ladder ...)

Inderdaad, nu zit het dicht bij elkaar, maar soms slaat het echt om. Zie ladder 55.

Bekende artiesten krijgen sowieso veel 'gratis' punten. Daar horen Norman Connors en Ann Alford niet bij. De loting bepaalt veelal de kansen voor de onbekendere artiesten/songs. Daarnaast wie er wel/niet stemt. In zo'n klein groepje maakt één stemmer meer of juist minder heel erg veel uit.

Dat is zeker zo. Ach, in principe weet je al dat de top 100 vol staat met bekende artiesten en/of nummers (uitzonderingen daargelaten natuurlijk), maar het is leuk als er wat onbekender werk staat in de top 600.

Onbekende songs hoeven helemaal niet minder te zijn, hebben alleen bij aanvang al een grote achterstand. Daarom verbaast het me ook dat zelfs bij twijfel de punten dan toch naar de bekende artiest gaan, terwijl als nummers als "gelijkwaardig" worden gezien en het bekende nummer dus al met voorsprong is begonnen ... er meer aanleiding zou zijn om het "nieuwe" te supporteren.

edit: nu is dat in alle topics zo (dus echt verbaasd ben ik ook niet, het is wel jammer)

Het onverwoestbare "Street Life" krijgt de volle mep in ladder 59, gevolgd door de heerlijke funk van Rufus & Chaka. Sam heeft gewoon een goed nummer en Spanky vind ik ook lekker.

In ladder 60 vind ik het punten verdelen moeilijker. Al krijgt nipt de voorkeur boven Fred en zijn band. W&W verkies ik boven Otis zijn nummer, waar ik niet zo'n fan van ben. Geen punten meer over dus over Solomon.
