GREATEST HITS OF... THE YEAR !

Greatest Hits begon ooit als een spel met hits per jaargang.
Vijf jaar later wil ik de draad weer oppikken met nieuwe edities.

De startlijsten zijn gebaseerd op top 3 noteringen
in Nederland, België, het Verenigd Koninkrijk en de Verenigde Staten.
Misschien in latere edities (vanaf jaren 80) ook op de lijsten uit Duitsland.

SPELREGELS

We starten telkens met 40 absolute toppers uit dat jaar.
En daarmee spelen we wekelijks de drie vertrouwde rondes.

1ste RONDE nominatie (start op zaterdag)

* Je beloont uit de lijst van 40 hits jouw 20 favorieten met 1 punt.
De 10 nummers met de minste punten verlaten de wedstrijd.

2de RONDE eliminatie (start op maandag)

* Je stipt 10 liedjes aan die je liever niet in de finale terugziet.
De 10 nummers met de meeste aantal punten gaan niet door.

3de RONDE finale (start op woensdag)

* Je deelt punten uit aan jouw favorieten.
Je mag zoveel nummers belonen als je zelf wil.

Doe je er 10 dan is de puntensleutel: 10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1.
Beloon je ze alle 20 dan mag je als volgt uitdelen: 20-19-18-17- enz...

Maar je kan dus ook voor 4 of 11 favorieten gaan.
Dan deel je dus punten uit van 4 tot 1 of van 11 tot 1.

Op vrijdag presenteer ik dan de top 10 (of 20) van dat jaar
aan de hand van zelfgeschreven commentaartjes en wist-je-datjes.

Het jaar waarin in het kielzog van The Beatles de Britse beat de wereld veroverde.

Jammer genoeg zijn het dus niet altijd televisiefilmpjes die toen vaak live opnames bevatten.

Er kwam merkwaardig genoeg maar één Nederlandstalig nummer in aanmerking.
Maar ik heb Het Spel Kaarten van Cowboy Gerard (de Vries) uiteindelijk toch weggelaten.

Hopelijk vinden we een deelnemersveld van meer dan 10 personen.
Dat hebben we wel nodig om het spel levend te houden. Dus, zeg het voort.

Ik post later mijn punten nog, er staan 2 of 3 nummers tussen die ik even moet beluisteren om mijn geheugen op te frissen. Wel opvallend hoeveel oubollige liedjes ertussen staan (en gelukkig ook nog heel wat juweeltjes).

Verder een mooie spelreeks, eentje om naar uit te kijken dit jaar.

Toevallig ben ik net bezig om hits uit 1965 te beluisteren (naar aanleiding van het 1965-topic). De meeste ken ik wel (en ik op CD) en vind ik prima, sommige klinken nu inderdaad oubollig.

Opvallend dat Four Tops 3 uit 5 scoren. Zo'n perfect popliedje, voor mij de beste van dit veertigtal.

Ehhhmm... Dazzler, ik kende dit spel nog niet maar... een negatieve nominatie?! Er zit volgens mij veel overlap tussen de meest geliefde en meest gehate liedjes. Met deze stap gooien die haters daarom een hoop favorieten van anderen eruit! Volgens mij kun je beter van stap 1 meteen naar 3 als je doel is een beeld te krijgen van de nu meest populaire liedjes van toen. Wat denk je?

Maar goed ik ga gewoon meedoen

Ben wel benieuwd hoeveel liedjes iedereen die meedoet al kende? En of iedereen alle linkjes van niet bekende liedjes luistert? Ik kende er 29 afgaande op de titel, de rest ben ik nu aan het luisteren (1 x, genoeg voor een grove selectie). Vermoedelijk ken ik er ook nog wel een paar zonder de titel te herkennen.

Enne... complimenten voor het bij elkaar zoeken (en vinden) van alle linkjes!

Ik kende uiteindelijk maar 6 liedjes niet, minder dan ik had verwacht. Alleen Sandie Shaw vond ik een ster waard, niet zozeer voor het sterke nummer, maar haar stem vind ik erg mooi.

Volgens mij was hij niet alleen een Belg, maar IS hij het. Leuk liedje, ken t vaag uit mijn baby- of peutertijd;). Dit liedje van 25 jaar later ken ik een stuk beter, een andere grote hit in NL en B met prominente rol voor zijn orgelspel. Inmiddels weer 25 jaar verder, tijd voor weer een hit!

Het zal bij 13 deelnemers blijven deze eerste ronde, vermoed ik.

Wat in het geval van een tie-break?
Ik heb me voorgenomen om niet meer met tie-breaks te spelen.

En wel om twee redenen.
1. De deadline van de rondes ligt een beetje noodgedwongen later op de avond.
2. Die paar mensen die dan nog actief zijn, geven dan ook meteen de doorslag.

Ik hanteer daarom de regel die ik vroeger gebruikte als er na een tie-break
nog sprake was van een gelijk spel: het nummer dat het eerste door was, gaat door.

Daarom vallen deze nummers af.
