She drives me crazy vind ik erg lelijk, de beat is veel te hard en te simpel, het refrein schreeuwerig en de zanger te schel (ik ken overigens zat prima songs van de FYC).
Ik zag dat een paar erg vervelende songs die de laatste 20 gehaald hadden, ook nog hard van start waren gegaan (Roy Orbison, Roxette, D.A. Stewart), ik hoop dat dat niet zo blijft...

Weet niet of het in België anders was, maar in Nederland werd de Lambada pas ver na de zomer een hit. Volgens mij stond het zelfs in 1990 nog even in de hitlijsten, als ik me goed herinner.

En veel liever Paula Abdul dan Clouseau wat mij betreft, al valt Anne wel mee. Zelf mis ik vooral Lil Louis en Margaret Singana. Die laatste had wel top 5 gescoord.

De Lambada was in België en hit in augustus en september, maar bleef ook lang nazinderen.
Toch zat het nummer al een geruime tijd op de radio. De hit kwam overwaaien vanuit Frankrijk
en zoals we weten, moet de wind uit Frankrijk eerst over België alvorens Nederland te bereiken.

Eerst had je die reclame van die frisdrank (was het Orangina?) met het melodietje.
Daarna werd het nummer een plaatje en dan pas kon de hitparade beklommen worden.
Een beetje zoals First Time van Robin Beck een reclamehit van Coca Cola was.

ps. Ik vind If Only I Could van Sydney Youngblood ook beter dan de versie van Syndey Youngblood.

Opvallend dat daar nog zo'n tijd tussen kon zitten. Is nu toch wel ondenkbaar.

In NL kwam de Lambada op 2 september in de top 40 binnen, dat is toch niet veel later dan in BE. Het bijzondere van Lambada was wel dat het liedje het 21 weken volhield en zo nog het volgend jaar haalde (al is dat tegenwoordig ook een peulenschil geworden).
