Lastig te definieren dit Het lijkt wel het New Wave-Postpunk-topic

Klopt ja, Bijv Michael Jackson - Beat It mag wel maar een ander willekeurig nummer van hem niet omdat het meestal geen rock is.

En je moet ergens de lijn trekken want je had toen ook stromingen als Alt Rock enz.

Duran Duran en Someone Somewhere (in Summertime) vind ik ook een twijfelgeval.

Rio en SS in S zijn sowieso meer rock dan More than this, Roxy music is van nature natuurlijk ook geen classic rock band...

Ik vind overigens dat we ook niet al te moeilijk moeten gaan doen anders kom je dus uit op een softmetal/AOR KO. Ook prima maar dan moet je het ook zo benoemen

Ik heb The Smiths dan weer gecategoriseerd onder "Jangle Pop" in mijn collectie.

Dat meen je niet? The Smiths en Talking Heads zijn 80's rock?

Talking Heads was ik idd vergeten, The Smiths is Alt Rock wat natuurlijk ook rock is

Dus Edgar18 moet in totaal Decades, Ashes To Ashes, Talking Heads, 2x Talk Talk en There Is A LIght - Smiths vervangen

De rest van The Smiths mag blijven staan

Waarom zou je in hemelsnaam There is a Light er niet in doen en Bigmouth wel ? En Decades geen rock, hoe zou jij het dan noemen? En Ashes To Ashes?

Talking Heads en Talk Talk a la, al zou ik dan toch de regels van je spelletje wat duidelijker omschrijven..

Tja Lex is de baas maar wat mij betreft doet het gewoon mee. The Smiths deden ook met tig nr's mee in de New wave ladders. Nou dan is dit toch een stuk logischer. Ook dit Talking heads lied is toch niet echt een discussie stuk?

Ja maar Edgar18, van Bigmouth kan je nog zeggen dat het 'rockt'. Van Decades en There Is A Light That Never Goes Out kan je dat echt niet zeggen, hoe goed die nummers ook zijn.

Wel is het zo dat '80's rock' gewoon een ontzettend vage kapstok is om een KO aan op te hangen natuurlijk. Ik dacht eigenlijk dat het vooral een KO zou worden gevuld met nummers die bijvoorbeeld in de Amerikaanse mainstream rock-hitlijst hebben gestaan enzo, maar iets alternatievers als Bigmouth of Debaser is natuurlijk net zo goed rock. Daar ligt een beetje het probleem bij deze KO.

Nou ja als je de regel(s) leest is het toch vrij duidelijk:

Dus daar valt volgens mij het meeste waar nu een discussie over is gewoon in. Kijk als je nou met Pet Shop Boys, Jean Michel Jarre of Berdien Stenberg aan komt is het een ander verhaal maar de genoemde nummers hebben toch "iets met rock te maken"

Okay dan laten we het gewoon zo staan
