Eind juni komt de nieuwe plaat van The Cure uit en die zal simpelweg 'The Cure' heten. Zanger Robert Smith is ervan overtuigd dat dit hun beste werk ooit is. "Als je dit album niet goed vindt, dan vind je gewoon The Cure niet goed", zo zegt hij. Het album 'The Cure' verschijnt eind juni en de band komt die voorstellen op Rock Werchter . De eerste single uit het album zal 'The end of the world' heten.

Producer is Ross Robinson trouwens. Dat is een groot fan naar het schijnt.

Dit zegt zo'n beetje elke artiest over z'n laatste werk.

Op 24 Mei verschijnt het nieuwe Tori Amos project: een cd/dvd. Op de dvd staan 18 live nummers, opgenomen tijdens de laatste show van de Lottapianos tour (4 September 2003 in West Palm Beach, Florida).
De cd bestaat uit 6 nummers en heet Scarlet's Hidden Treasures. Dit zijn b-kanten en nog niet eerder uitgebrachte songs.

Former SUEDE bandmates BRETT ANDERSON and BERNARD BUTLER have written 15 songs together, and say that the material is "up there with some of the best things we've ever done".

In a posting on Suede’s official website, Anderson reveals that they have a drummer and bassist, and that fans may not have to wait long for new material.

"I know there has been a lot of speculation and rumour about precisely what I'm up to," Anderson wrote, "So I thought I'd set the record straight.

"Firstly I can confirm that me and Bernard are working together again. We've written about 15 songs so far and even though it's early days I can honestly say that I believe the work to be up there with some of the best things we've ever done.

"We have been rehearsing with a drummer and a bass player who will be part of our new band. I can't tell you what we will be called yet but it will not be Suede or Anderson and Butler. We'll be entering a London studio to start recording in June so I'm hoping that you will hear something early next year."

Wow! Anderson en Butler weer bij elkaar! Interessant!

Wow... Als het teruggaat naar het vroegere geluid van Suede (het eerste album, maar vooral het magistrale Dog Man Star), dan ben ik heel, heel, heel nieuwsgierig!

New order are making good progress on their new album, and have revealed it will signal a return to their 'dance' period.

The band told BBC6Music that the album, currently being recorded in Bath, is similar in flavour to their 1989 collection 'Technique' rather than 2001's guitar-heavy 'Get Ready'.

The album is being co-produced by veterans Stephen Street and John Leckie.

Get Ready doet me behoorlijk aan Low-Life denken, kwam ik deze week achter. Ik ben benieuwd naar weer een nieuwe NO-plaat.

ID&T heeft de release van de nieuwe Thunderdome cd uitgesteld vanwege een verfrissing/restyling en de cd zou als het goed is binnen 2 a 2 1/2 week verschijnen, ben in ieder geval erg benieuwd hoe het er nu uit gaat zien, zowel inhoud als de buitenkant ofcourse.

Ik vind dat hoesje nu niet echt blijk geven van een nieuw elan

Ik zie het hoesje zo, ik hou mijn hart vast. Lijkt weer teveel op hoesjes uit het verleden, vond de huidige vage hoesjes er toch "volwassener" uitzien, hopelijk gaat de serie qua inhoud niet achteruit.

Franz ferdinand aim to have their second album out by the beginning of next year.

While answering questions from fans during an NME.COM Fannish Inquisition Franz revealed their future recording plans. Guitarist Nick McCarthy said: "The next album should be out beginning of next year."

Dre and Big Boi have already begun work on the next Outkast album. The
duo have returned to their roots for the LP, working with their
original production team.

"You gonna get two albums within the next 365 days. The soundtrack [to
the movie] will be released in May [2005], it's gonna be all brand-new
songs, me and Dre on one CD together," he said. "But before we put the
soundtrack out, we're going to put another album out this November.
It's gonna be a hardcore album, me and Dre letting Organized Noize
produce the whole album. I can't give you the title of it yet, but
it's coming together nicely. It's going to be a lot of MCing and a
little bit of other stuff. But a lot of MCing. Think about what I'm

Nieuwe Zita Swoon !

Bang is erg gelukkig en trots te kunnen melden dat de nieuwe plaat van ZITA SWOON in de Benelux door Bang! verdeeld wordt.
De plaat komt uit op het eigen label van Zita Swoon: Chikaree. Op dat label werd eerder ook al een soundtrack voor 'Sunrise' uitgebracht (1997) en de muziek van de dansvoorstelling die Zita Swoon maakte samen met Les Ballets C. De La B.: 'Plage Tattoo/ Circumstances' (2000)

Ondertussen is het drie jaar geleden dat het vorige album van Zita Swoon 'Life= a Sexy Sanctuary' (Warner) verscheen, maar nu is er dus een releasedatum voor een gloednieuw studioalbum: 15 oktober 2004.
De plaat wordt opgenomen in een co-produktie tussen Stef Kamil Carlens en Wim De Wilde. Beiden werkten al eerder samen toen Wim de laatste plaat van Neeka produceerde.

De opnames voor de nieuwe plaat vonden grotendeels plaats bij drummer Aarich Jespers en in Carlens' homestudio. Dit liet hen toe relax te werken zonder de tijdsdruk van een gehuurde studio. Het resultaat is een rustige, heel organische en ongedwongen verzameling van groovy songs.
Een vaak akoestisch geluid echoot hier en daar een beetje de sound van hun eerste incarnatie: Moondog Jr. Verrassend is dat Stef Kamil Carlens niet langer uitsluitend in het Engels zingt: voor dit nieuwe album schreef hij namelijk ook een aantal teksten in het Frans.

The thrills have almost finished their second album. The West Coast-via-Dublin indie stars have been busy recording in New York with Hundred Reasons and Dandy Warhols producer Dave Sardy. The album has a scheduled release date of September 13.

The first single from the new album will be 'Whatever Happened To Corey Haim?' on August 30, which has been a staple of the band's live set for over a year.

Other tracks expected to make the final cut include 'The Irish Gate Keeps Crashing', 'Smoke and Mirrors', 'Introducing The Fall Guy', 'Tell Me Something I Don't Know' and 'Follow My Rosebud'.

The follow-up to 'So Much For The City' features an appearance from REM guitarist Peter Buck, as well as string arrangements from Brian Wilson's co-writer Van Dyke Parks.
