Dat van die credits klopt natuurlijk helemaal,
Droombolus, maar ik baseer me weer op het boek van Daryl Sanders dat ik in mijn bericht van 22 mei noem. Een paar citaten over de opname van
Leopard-skin pill-box hat :
"After Dylan refreshed everyone's memory of the song, Robertson made some suggestions regarding the riff Dylan should play, to which Dylan responded, 'Oh,' and played the riff. 'That?' he asked. // Robertson said, 'Right.' // Dylan responded, 'OK.' "
Daarna suggereert producer Bob Johnston:
" 'Hey, Bob, why don't you start off on your guitar yourself?' // 'OK,' Dylan said. // 'Yeah, play a lead kind of thing to start it off,' the producer added."
En daarna begint het nummer, met een beschrijving van wat de verschillende muzikanten spelen,
"but the moment belonged to Robertson. The guitarist shined brightest on the song, playing some blistering lead over [Wayne] Moss's boogie groove and [Joe] South's complementary trills, then he really stepped to the front on the song's long instrumental outro."
En als de opname is afgelopen zegt McCoy:
'Robbie, the whole world'll marry you on that one.'
Dus het lijkt erop alsof Dylans "lead guitar" van de hoescredits niet de sologitaar is die er gewoonlijk onder wordt verstaand, maar de "begingitaar" die de andere muzikanten het nummer in moet leiden, "a lead kind of thing to start it off".
