- Liesa van der Aa is een Belgische zangeres die de laatste weken nieuwe tracks dropt van haar volgend jaar te verschijnen nieuwe album. Het is redelijk experimenteel met invloeden van jazz en elektronica, maar wel erg de moeite waard. Voor fans van de vroege Julia Holter, Grouper, etc.
- Fort Romeau is wel redelijk bekend onder de dance-liefhebbers hier. Dit is ook weer zo'n mooie epische houseplaat, 9 minuten lang wegzweven.
- Peggy Sue en Las Kellies zitten een beetje in hetzelfde straatje, fijne indie gezongen door dames. Waar Peggy Sue meer jangle pop is, klinkt het Chileense Las Kellies meer als hoekige post-punk. Beide fijn en opzwepend in ieder geval.
- Tame Impala laat zich na een reeks matige singles eindelijk weer van een betere kant horen met deze autotune ballad. Heerlijke oorwurm.

Hah, het is een andere artiest - Lim Kim. Maar ze heeft ook een grote verandering doorgemaakt, van pre-fab K-pop naar eigenzinnige solo artiest. Het was behoorlijk controversieel in Korea, zowel de support als de backlash is vrij groot.

Maar tof dat ie zo goed bevalt.

Haha, wat dacht je Dance Lover, gewaagd dat Lil Kim een Aziatisch accent durft op te zetten?

Ik dacht, die heeft haar hart verpand aan Azië en is er ook gaan wonen.

Die van Lim Kim is zeker prima, maar persoonlijk ben ik meer van je nieuwe #21: Aoyama Sachiko (als ik het goed heb), die gaat meer richting de prefab K-pop zoals je het zo mooi omschreef. Daar ben ik dan weer fervent liefhebber van. バニラ is voor mij dan weer een fraaie ontdekking.
Ik was al van plan om weer eens aan te haken en was wat inspiratie aan het opdoen. Die gaat sowieso mee in mijn lijst.

Prefab J-pop dan. Maar eigenzinnig genoeg om boven het maaiveld uit te steken. Aoyama was de frontvrouw van pop/rock band Negoto. Haar solo debuut EP kwam vorige maand uit, hij staat inmiddels in de wachtrij.

De 51ste Afrekening van 2019 is weer een vrolijke smeltkroes van 36 eigen hitlijsten. (3 tellen voor 50% mee).
53 nieuwe entry’s mocht ik weer toevoegen, waarvan er 6 direct doorstoten naar de top30.
Het Internationale gezelschap heeft een gevarieerd kerstmenu gemaakt, met Amerikaanse ElectroPop, Dance, Toef FolkPop, Koreaanse Hiphop en Britpop .




Grimes wisselt van single en zelfs ik kan horen dat de nieuwste veel lekkerder is dan My Name is Dark die de exitdeur heeft gevonden. 4/EM Knalt als een vuurpijl de lijst in en Billie kan wel wat concurrentie gebruiken in het volgend jaar.

HEALTH & Lim Kim liggen zeemijlen ver af van mijn eigen smaak, maar toch leuk om ook dat n keer gehoord te hebben. Een van de velen geneugtes van de Afrekening.
HAIM smaakt als en prima tussengerecht keurige folkpop.

MGMT zag ik 2 jaar geleden in Paradiso. Waarbij bleek dat het geen performers zijn. Rommelige show waar al bleek dat hun eigen smaak meer richting de stemmige popsongs ligt, terwijl de zaal gewoon de feestkrakers Kids en Electric Feel wil horen. In the Afternoon toont aan dat je als artist gewoon moet doen wat je zelf wilt horen. Vooral de donkere ondertoon bevalt prima.

En dan hebben ook nog passende kerstbelltjes van een van de Gallagher broertjes . Hoe passend kunnen we het jaar afsluiten en gerust aan de Kerst beginnen.

Dit was de laatste Afrekening van 2019. En wat een opwindend muziekjaar was het weer. Volgende week komt het bewijs als de ultieme Afrekenings Top100 van 2019 gepresenteerd gaat worden.

Al merk ik dat ik vaak maar weinig overlap heb met de weeklijst (deze week 4 met mijn top 20, maar het is vaak ook 1 of 0), vind ik de lijst nu juist wel een mooie mix van allerlei stromingen.

Eén van de zeldzame algemene topics op de site waar hiphop, dance en elektronica tenminste nog een beetje komen bovendrijven.

Ben ik ook absoluut met je eens hoor herman. Ik heb zelf 3 in mijn top 20 en er staan er nog 2 in die inmiddels uit mijn eigen lijst zijn.

blur8 en 123poetertjes bedankt voor jullie werk dit jaar. Ik vind het altijd leuk te zien wat er in de gezamenlijke staat al is dat lang niet altijd mijn ding

Overigens ben ik wel blij met het regelmatig in de lijst komen van bands als EUT en Tape Toy. Ik heb zomaar het idee dat dat lastiger zou zijn geweest zonder mijn punten
Ik zou het wel leuker vinden als meer mensen ook verhaaltjes bij hun binnenkomers zouden schrijven, vaak ken ik iets niet en wie weet wat ik mis Maar daar moet je ook maar tijd voor hebben of willen maken.

Met een opbeurende versie van een oude song van Jim Croce voor de speelfilm Fast and Furious. Ze hebben gelukkig nog een beetje foto van Yungblud kunnen vinden...

1 punt slechts meer dan de nummer 2 van Johnny Marr.
Ook vermeldenswaard is dat het jaar voor Let's build an empire net een week te kort is geweest. Met nog 1 week en 8 punten (plek 13 en hoger) zouden zij de nummer 1 van het jaar zijn geweest. Maar het mocht niet zo zijn.

Verder erg veel mooie herrie én artiesten die ook al hits hadden in de jaren '60. Hoe lang kunnen we dat nog zeggen...

Ook mijn laatste lijst van dit jaar. Wilderun staat nu al 6 weken op 1, maar kan helaas het jaaroverzicht niet naar zich toe trekken, doordat hij geen complete chartrun in dit jaar heeft. De song overrompelt mij nog bij elke draaibeurt.

Dan is het nu ook aan mij om iedereen hier alvast hartelijk te bedanken voor hun inzet het gehele jaar. Echt jongens, de lijst had niet bestaan zonder jullie. Vooral een speciale shoutout naar blur8 natuurlijk die er de laatste maandjes zelfs bijna alleen voor stond en zich er altijd doorheen gebeten heeft. Bedankt Fred, het was een fijne samenwerking en we moeten snel maar weer eens meeten!

Voor mezelf eindigt het wel een beetje met een downer, moet ik eerlijk over zijn. Ik had gehoopt het wel een jaar te kunnen volhouden maar de eindstreep bleek iets te ver te liggen. Hersenschudding heeft er natuurlijk ook niet aan meegeholpen maar het is denk ik gewoon iets dat al langer in me zit. Ambitie te over, discipline te weinig zegmaar. Wie weet dat ik over een paar jaartjes nog wel in de herkansing wil maar wel opgelucht dat ik er bijna vanaf ben nu. De Eindafrekening heb ik voorlopig veel zin in dus we gaan het zien waar het ons brengt.

Al bij al kan ik er echter toch wel met een redelijk voldaan gevoel op terugkijken. Het eerste halfjaar heb ik er enorm veel plezier aan gehad en dat gevoel wil ik graag meenemen. Na de Eindafrekening ga ik dit topic even wat maandjes links laten liggen maar daarna kom ik hoe dan ook weer terug. Het is het waard.

Voor nu sowieso fijne feestdagen gewenst!

Veel metal en vergelijkbare genres, maar ook folk, avant garde, wereldmuziek, pop/rock, een paar oudjes en (op 3 zelfs) een zangeres met veel soul.

Hier ook mijn eindlijst van 2019.
Het was zeer nipt bovenaan maar uiteindelijk haalde Lana met haar Greatest song het van Bat For Lashes met 3 punten verschil. Er haalden dit jaar 277 verschillende songs mijn wekelijkse top 30 en de meest succesvolle artiesten waren Big Thief, Billie Eilish en The National die elk met 4 songs genoteerd staan in de top 100. De vrouwen zijn ook dit jaar weer in de grote meerderheid: de verhouding man/vrouw is 25/75.

Ik wil uiteraard ook Fred en Niek bedanken voor de organisatie en alle stemmers van dit fijne topic. Dankzij de Mumeafrekening heb ik toch ook dit jaar weer veel mooie muziek leren kennen en ook altijd fijn dat een aantal door mij geintroduceerde songs de gezamenlijke weeklijst haalden.
