Taylor Swift lijkt te beste kaarten in handen te hebben om volgende week de koppositie over te nemen van The Haunted Youth. In de tweede week verzamelt de Amerikaanse poster al 112,5 punten en is het gat naar de top naar maar 12,5 punten. Ze is niet de enige uitdager. Ook de Yeah Yeah Yeahs en The Raytons springen omhoog, maar hebben nog niet voldoende tractie om een bedreiging te vormen. We gaan zien waar het heen gaat.

Deze week zijn er drie re-entry's met de hoogste re-entry op 20: The War on Drugs. Verder zijn er drie entry's en verrassend genoeg passen ze allemaal in mijn muzikale straatje, dus helemaal goed dat ik de presentatie mag doen deze week.

A+A staat voor Avalon Emerson & Anunaku. Emerson is geliefd om haar avontuurlijke techno- en houseproducties. De Amerikaanse DJ heeft een grote kennis van new wave, rave, EBM, house en techno. Dit is zeker terug te horen op deze track, waar ze de samenwerking aangaat met Anunaku, oftewel de Italiaanse producer Guglielmo Barzacchini. Eternal September is een stuwende dancetrack die al hoge ogen gooide in Song van het Jaar. Helaas bereikte het instrumentale Eternal September geen finaleplek, maar blijkbaar is de fanbase groot genoeg voor een plek in de MuMeAfrekening. En terecht!

Altin Gün - Leylim Ley (38) (2)
Als fanboy heb ik misschien geen recht van spreken, maar serieus: dit is ons beste exportproduct. Vergeet tulpen, het koningshuis en nederwiet: met Altin Gün komen we verder. Het nummer is gebaseerd op een gedicht van de Turkse schrijver Sabahattin Ali uit 1937. Fans van de Turkse muziek van Altin Gün zullen niet teleurgesteld zijn, want de muziek is zeer catchy. Het terugkerende herhalende 'Leylim Ley' maakt dat het nummer ook geschikt is om volle borst mee te zingen in festivalweides. Persoonlijk hoogtepunt is de fantastische solo rond 2:50. Die mag eindeloos op repeat. Volgend jaar komt de nieuwste langspeler. Benieuwd wat er nog meer gaat komen.

CHAMPS - Adeleine (37) (3)
De laatste nieuwe binnenkomer is deze chamber pop van CHAMPS. Een melancholisch popliedje met een vleugje Americana, een duidelijke kop en een staart en de heerlijke zang van de broers David en Michael Champion, die inmiddels al tien jaar aan de weg timmeren. Adeleine is de eerste single sinds hun laatste album The Hard Interchange. Volgend jaar verschijnt het vierde studioalbum van het Britse duo. Een pareltje in de lijst en hopelijk stijgt dit nummer de komende weken nog verder!

Weer zoveel goede muziek om uit te kiezen!

De Vistas is een Schotse band die hun debuut kende in 2020 en sinds die tijd doordendert met prachtige hits. Een nieuwe EP volgt. Dat gaat wel een criterium worden. Ben je een artiest van vóór of na de corona? In ieder geval, het pompt dus ook weer jong bloed in de lijst.

Dat deden de Reytons ook al maar de Sheffieldse band is net even wat ouder (2017). Wel weer een prima hit en zo'n begeleidend filmpje mag ik dan tegelijkertijd ook graag zien. Als we dan toch bezig zijn.

Mooie herrie ook van de ontdekking van vorig jaar, Declan Welsh and the Decadent West (2015). Het benadert nog net niet het prachtige volume van de Suspects en Lostboy.

Eén ding, mannen. Diep respect voor Buddy Guy (86) en neem er een goed voorbeeld aan. Jullie hebben nog even te gaan. Maar met de juiste benadering kun je zelfs op die leeftijd nog op de eerste plaats belanden.

week 47 van 2022 waarin Soft Blue Shimmer naar 1 stijgt en meteen al op die hielen gezeten wordt door KT Laine. Splint krijgt de vaart er ook in en dan zijn er nog 5 binnenkomers waaronder 2 shit-liedjes.
Hatchie komt na haar 2e album dat dit jaar uitkwam alweer met een nieuw nummer, dat door de gitaren en zang erg Hatchie zijn, de drums zijn wat electronischer waardoor het ineens ook op Curve gaat lijken en daar is niks mee. Lekker hard nummer.
Ailbhe Reddy komt met een opvolger van A Mess, die begint rustig maar al snel vallen meer instrumenten in en wordt het een lekker folkpop nummer. Dat gaat een goed 2e album worden.
De single van Virgins is al 2 maanden uit maar ontdekte ik nu pas, erg lekkere echte shoegaze. De meeste hsoegaze in mijn lijst bevat ook flink wat dreampop (zoald bij de nummers 1, 6 en 8 ), dat is hier toch niet echt het geval. Heerlijk ruizen.
Alex Lahey stond een paar jaar geleden op 1, daarna is het wat wisselvallig geworden qua succes bij mij. De nieuwe single klinkt weer vertrouwd, we zonder sax trouwens maar fijne uptempo pop/rock.
De nieuwe Pom had wat meer tijd nodig om te wennen, een wat langer minder puntig nummer maar bevalt uiteindelijk toch ook wel.
