Als ik zo mijn top 10 doorneem, vind ik dat ik best wel een gevarieerde smaak heb

Al zeg ik het dan zelf!
Is dus 173 het totale aantal nummers dat in je top 20 heeft gestaan? Dat verklaart wel veel, gezien de grote hoeveelheid punten die er uiteindelijk zijn uitgedeeld in met name je Top 30. Het kan onrust zijn, van de hak op de tak of anders meer besluiteloosheid maar ik had in totaal 245 nummers. Waarbij Love of Life uiteindelijk "slechts" 172 punten had maar mijn nummer 100 had er 43. Het betekent een behoorlijke puntenverschuiving, of je het uiteindelijk over 72 nummers meer moet verdelen.

Grappig dat je dit aanstipt! Ja, dit zijn alle platen die in 1974 mijn top 20 gehaald hebben. Mijn top 20 is redelijk rustig, stabieler dan de top 40 in die tijd, maar ook weer niet vastgeroest (slechts 1 plaat met 14 weken, de rest minder). 245 nummers in je top 20 is erg veel, dat is gemiddeld ruim 4 binnenkomers per week, elke week weer. In het topic van 1987 meldde pureshores dat hij in dat jaar in totaal 122 platen in zijn top 20 heeft gehad, dat vond ik juist weer erg weinig...

Ik heb ook 65 nummers met minder dan 10 punten, daar heb je er zelf 37 van.

Met een Top 20 kun je volgens mij veel strenger zijn in je selectie en is de kans bij een grotere lijst (in mijn geval nu een Top 70, was 50) dat een nummer even de Top 20 aanstipt of 1 week genoteerd staat, veel groter.

Bij 1987 heb ik er 216, in 1993 225 en in 2018 in totaal 217. En betreft alle drie een Top 30.

De omloopsnelheid in jouw lijst is ook veel hoger dan bij de andere deelnemers, Hans. Althans dat idee heb ik al het hele jaar door. Nummers blijven bij jou niet heel lang in de lijst staan.

Jawel, maar dat laatste hoeft geen belemmering voor de eindlijst te zijn, als dat het hele jaar zo is.
Weet je hoeveel goede nummers er wel niet zijn geweest, in 1974? En veel concurrentie betekent automatisch veel nummers, een hoge omloopsnelheid (relatief korte noteringen) en dus ook naar verhouding weinig punten. Hoewel dus uiteindelijk naar evenredigheid gegeven.

Helaas een erg mager jaar met slechts een enkele uitzondering.

Is zeker zo, maar dat bedoelde ik niet. Ik doelde met die hoge omloopsnelheid juist op het feit dat er bij jou veel meer nummers punten hebben gehad dan bij anderen. Je had het er over dat sommigen (veel) minder nummers punten hadden gegeven.

P.S. Persoonlijk vond ik 1974, maar ook de eerdere jaren 70 niet bepaald het hoogtepunt in het muzikale spectrum. Wel een aantal erg sterke tracks, maar in verhouding met het 2e deel van de 70s en de 80s, toch wel wat magertjes. Een stukje sentiment zal hier ook meespelen.

Zeker, het zal juist de combinatie sentiment met nieuw (later) toegevoegd werk zijn, die het aantal nummers waarschijnlijk dan zo groot maakt.

Denk je dat een lijstje met 20 nummers vandaag nog zal lukken, Poeha? Dan kan de gezamenlijke lijst vandaag nog af en kan ik vanavond wellicht een start maken met het overzicht van het jaar 1974!

Ik heb eventuele nieuwe nummers al doorgenomen. Later vanmiddag de lijst definitief maken. Ook laatste vakantiedag. Maar moet lukken.

Met zo'n jaaroverzicht zie je ook aan een aantal singles waar Nederland zich in 1974 o.a. mee bezig hield en was daar de oliecrisis waar Farce Majeur over zingt of het einde van Radio Veronica waar Peter Koelewijn van zich laat horen of op televisiegebied waar Q & Q indruk maakte in een spannende jeugdserie die nog steeds te boek als de best bekeken jeugdserie ooit.

De Top 3 was overigens aan elkaar gewaagd, maar pakte in het voordeel uit van Earth & Fire.

Deze lijst was nog even van belang, voor wat betreft scores, de eindlijst etc. (waarover later meer), het belangrijkste is natuurlijk dat nu het overzicht over 1974 kan gaan beginnen!

Voordat ik morgen met de Top 100 voor 1974 ga beginnen, allereerst alvast het overzicht van alle nummers die de Top 100 niet hebben gehaald.

In volgorde van punten, dus Psychomodo heeft de meeste pech gehad van alle nummers en werd uiteindelijk dus nummer 101, met 42 punten. Ik geef er verder weinig informatie bij, behalve dan nog tussen haakjes wie het betreffende nummer op de eerste plaats van zijn lijst heeft gehad.

Eind 1973 begon het al met succes voor Miss Wonderful (daarom nu nog maar slechts een gedeeld aantal punten) en dat succes heeft eigenlijk tot en met december 1974 geduurd. Gezien de singles, had een glorieuze voortzetting van mij gemogen, maar het heeft zo niet mogen uitpakken voor Wally Tax, helaas.

Maar misschien kunnen we de singles die geen hits meer werden in 1975 het komende jaar mooi oppoetsen en postuum een goede notering geven.

Ik kom en ga overigens met het overzicht, zit daarnaast ook nog te werken, maar uiteindelijk komt het vandaag of morgen helemaal af...

Wie op 5 januari 1974 al in de lijst staat of wie op 28 december 1974 nog steeds in de lijst staat, heeft bij een gelijk aantal punten voorrang op nummers die niet tegen grenzen in tijd zijn aangelopen.

Love hurts van Nazareth en Jessica van The Allman Brothers ondervinden dit nu en komen elkaar ook tegen in de eindlijst. Dan wordt per saldo het resultaat van Jessica (hoogste plek 3, minder aantal weken nodig) als beter gezien dan dat van Love Hurts.

Nazareth scoort een heel goed resultaat met Love Hurts in de Nederlandse hitlijsten maar dan vanaf januari 1976.

Het Songfestival van 1974 heeft met Abba en Waterloo een winnaar opgeleverd dat nog steeds als het grote voorbeeld wordt aangehaald als grootste succes voor aanstormende talenten. Die dan in ieder geval meedoen aan het songfestival.

Maar een carrière als Abba heeft het songfestival geen enkele artiest na 1974 meer gehaald. En daarom is 1974 voor het geschiedenisboek van het eurovisie songfestival zo'n belangrijk jaar. Het nummer scoorde internationaal ook goed, wij hebben er een relatief lage plaats voor over.
