Leuk dat jullie ook hebben genoten! het was een geweldig weekend. 546 luisteraars hebben we gehad over het hele weekend, maar velen daarvan hebben ongetwijfeld maar korte stukjes geluisterd. Het gemiddelde van gelijktijdige luisteraars zal rond de 75 hebben gezeten. De 100 gelijktijdig hebben we nét niet gehaald , helaazzz...

En we moeten eens kijken wat we kunnen doen aan het uitzenden van MusicMeter-initatieven..! Wie weet wat dat allemaal teweeg brengt hier (en bij ons...

Ach, dat Child In Time-gedoe is een erfenis van de top2000-chat en hoort er een beetje bij. Gebeurt alleen bij dat nummer en bij Drs P (Dodenrit)... Voor de rest is het er erg gezellig en gaat het vooral over niets in het algemeen en heel veel over muziek in het bijzonder...

Nouja, laten we het er maar ophouden dat als het jeugdsentiment is, ik het een rare vorm van jeugdsentiment vind, en dat het ook wel een heel kromme vergelijking is om dat met alleen een avatar te vergelijken. Ik heb niet zo'n zin in een discussie met jou, want ik weet hoe die gaan, dus daar wil ik het bij laten. Veel plezier verder met zulke chatrooms.

Nou Arrie, de vergelijking die Chevy aanstipt snijdt juist 100% hout. Immers, tenzij je me kunt overtuigen van het feit dat jij Pokemon heel erg serieus neemt, gaat het in beide gevallen toch gewoon om iets wat flauw en kinderlijk, maar voor sommige mensen persoonlijk ook leuk, is? Die avatar komt voort uit de Pokemon-meme die hier op MM erg populair is en de bijbehorende grapjes die regelmatig in het just a joke topic voorkomen zijn van een vergelijkbaar niveau als het filmpje dat Chevy hierboven postte.
Maar goed, het was geenszins mijn bedoeling om je te irriteren ofzo, het was gewoon grappig bedoeld.
Maar om er toch een serieuze draai aan te geven: wat mijns inziens de boodschap is die mensen mee zouden kunnen nemen uit dat filmpje is eentje die juist niet van inhoudelijke aard is maar betrekking heeft op het enthousiasme van de groep mensen achter de Verrukkelijke 500.
Trust me, toen ik het Child in Time filmpje van 2011 zag, dat ook door Chevy is gepost, dacht ik ook: "wat een raar volk". Maar ik was toch wel geïntrigeerd. Vandaar dat ik dit jaar mee heb gedaan door een lijstje in te sturen en het hele weekend mee te luisteren en af en toe wat te chatten.
En wat blijkt? De V500 stemmers zijn heel erg vergelijkbaar met de MuMeLadder stemmers. Zij hebben net als wij een lijstje dat hun toch wel dierbaar is. Alles is relatief natuurlijk maar het leeft daar op dezelfde manier als hier, en dat lees je af aan het enthousiasme in die chatroom.
Terwijl zij meegillen met Child in Time spammen wij onze 'top-32's-tot-dusverre-bekend' om de 5 platen tijdens de MML finale. Daar ontploft de chatroom terwijl hier het topic ontploft. Het gevoel wat ik er bij had is in ieder geval precies hetzelfde.
En zoals Grafmat al zei, het Child in Time gedoe is een exces, en een traditie, bij andere platen gebeurt het niet of iig een heel stuk minder en er wordt ook gewoon serieus gechat over van alles en nog wat; Geert Wilders, Leo Blokhuis, Gaza, en weet ik wat nog meer, alsmede natuurlijk enorm veel over (de liefde voor) muziek.

Een mooie mix is het geworden. Staat veel tussen dat ik kan waarderen en dat is in heel veel toplijsten alles behalve het geval. Nu nog een keer The Roots, A Tribe Called Quest en/of De La Soul in zo'n lijst en het is helemaal geweldig.

Het is weer zover! De uitzenddata van De Verrukkelijke 500 2013 zijn bekend! En de 'inschrijving' is dus weer gestart. Vanaf nu kun je je lijst met favoriete nummers (in volgorde, minimaal een top25, maximaal een top1000) inzenden naar [email protected].
Je bent volledig vrij in de keuze van de nummers, maar heb wel enig meelij met onze redacteurs en controleer van tevoren even de spelling van artiestennamen en titels van de nummers...
Aan de formule wordt niet getornd, Dus ga maar weer aan de slag met die top25, 50, 100, 300, 500, 625 of welk ander getal t/m de nummer 1000 er maar in je hoofd opkomt.
Iedereen is nog immer vogelvrij in de keuze, maar mensen: heb echt meelij met onze stemmentellers/correctiemedewerkers, dus zet je lijst bij voorkeur in Excel of een ander compatibel spreadsheetprogramma, laat bij bandnamen overal de voorvoegsels ‘The’ weg, stuur alles in met éérst de artiestennaam (aparte kolom!) en daarna de tracktitel, en controleer van tevoren even de spelling van de artiest en tracktitels Jullie doen ons er echt een enorm plezier mee!
