Hier was het muzikaal wel beter dan tekstueel, maar het was ook maar een b-kantje.

Pulp, althans datgene wat ik van hun ken, vind ik ook wel weer tot het betere alternatieve Britse spul behoren. Generatiegenoten uit die hoek van het muzikale spectrum, The Smiths en The Cure, haalden nota bene mijn Top 20 van het decennium hiervoor, dus ik ben er zeker wel ontvankelijk voor (echter veelal geen uitgesproken liefhebber van).

Users als herman e.a. die er net als ik een voorliefde voor "het Britse geluid" op nahouden, beveel ik onderstaand boek (waarin uiteraard ook de 90's uitvoerig aan bod komen) van harte aan:

Blijkbaar weinig naar jaren 90 muziek geluisterd het afgelopen jaar. Het is haast dezelfde top 20 gebleven. Alleen Ænima van Tool is uit de top 10 in het niets verdwenen vanwege van 4,5 naar 4 gezakt ondertussen (dat pingpingpingel-truukje is me beginnen tegen te steken), en zo komt Never, Neverland van Annihilator op 20. De albums van 21 tot 31 zouden ook wel in die top 20 kunnen, als er daar plaats was voor 31...

Ik zie schrikbarend weinig Loveless in de lijsten voorbij komen. Hoort echt wel in de top 40.

Ik tel tweemaal een derde plaats, eenmaal een tiende en tweemaal een elfde stek. Da's inderdaad niet om over naar huis te schrijven...
