De belangrijkste verandering hier is Talking Heads op 1. Ik wist al lang dat het een fantastisch album was (4,5*), maar niet zo lang geleden viel het laatste kwartje (5*). Dit meesterwerk verdient dan ook niets anders dan de nummer 1-notering. Meteen daarna volgen drie ususal suspects. Voorts zijn er leuke nieuwkomers zoals XTC, Kirsty MacColl, SPK, The Stranglers en een andere plaat van Front 242 dan vorig jaar. O.a. The Feelies en Depeche Mode moeten opkrassen. R.E.M. keert terug.
