Hoogste nieuwkomer is voor Superorganism. Ik ken het nummer al enkele maanden en vond het al direct vrij leuk, maar aanvankelijk niet genoeg om in mijn afrekening te komen. Heb wel lange tijd een ander nummer van de band in mijn lijst gehad (het fantastische "Nobody Cares") en toen is Something for Your MIND ook wel uitgegroeid tot een van mijn favoriete nummers dit jaar. Dus nu ik zie dat hij hier ook opgepikt wordt is dat reden te meer om hem eindelijk zijn verdiende positie hoog in mijn afrekening te geven.

Vele platen verlaten mijn lijst terwijl ik nog lang niet op ze uitgekeken ben, maar er staat nu eenmaal, iedere week weer, zoveel mooie muziek klaar die ik moeilijk buiten de lijst kan laten.
Glue van Bicep is nog niet koud de lijst uit of ze denderen de top 10 alweer binnen met Rain. Werd aardig getriggerd om Bicep te beluisteren nadat ik afgelopen vrijdag in de Watergate in Berlijn echt verrast werd door de dromerige 808 State - In Yer Face remix van Bicep, was zo in dromenland door die prachtige vocalen dat het pas ergens in het appartement diep in de ochtendgloren was, dat het tot mij doordrong dat het dus om die In Yer Face remix ging. Rain gaat ook erg diep bij mij, prachtige mythische vocalen!
Meest gedraaide track is echter de onweerstaanbare, bijna meanderende, dik geplamuurde nu disco van Franz Ferdinand! En verder een shout out naar onder meer Panjoe & Arrie voor andere mooie ontdekkingen, al is Dizzee Rascal altijd wel op niveau en kan ik dat dus moeilijk een ontdekking noemen.

Werd aardig getriggerd om Bicep te beluisteren nadat ik afgelopen vrijdag in de Watergate in Berlijn echt verrast werd door de dromerige 808 State - In Yer Face remix van Bicep, was zo in dromenland door die prachtige vocalen dat het pas ergens in het appartement diep in de ochtendgloren was, dat het tot mij doordrong dat het dus om die In Yer Face remix ging. Rain gaat ook erg diep bij mij, prachtige mythische vocalen!
Meest gedraaide track is echter de onweerstaanbare, bijna meanderende, dik geplamuurde nu disco van Franz Ferdinand! En verder een shout out naar onder meer Panjoe & Arrie voor andere mooie ontdekkingen, al is Dizzee Rascal altijd wel op niveau en kan ik dat dus moeilijk een ontdekking noemen.

De MuMeAfrekening op Spotify:
Een nieuwe maandagavond (nacht) een nieuwe MuMeAfrekening. Bovenin houden Gainsbourg en Teleman nog even stand, maar de concurrentie zit ze op de hielen. Ex-nummer 1 Wolf Alice lijkt na 16 (!) weken aan de laatste week bezig, maar die zien we eind dit jaar nog wel terug...
De hoogste nieuwe binnenkomer is Franz Ferdinand, waarvan ik eigenlijk dacht dat ze er de brui aan hadden gegeven na hun album uit 2013. Maar nee, volgend jaar komt het nieuwe album Always Ascending en nu is er al de titeltrack als single. Iemand noemde al hun eigen Lucid Dreams als vergelijkingsmateriaal en daar zit wel iets in. Het vertrouwde indiediscogeluid is in ieder geval gebleven. Drummer Paul Thompson heeft met zijn project Amor overigens ook een nieuwe single uit, maar dat terzijde.
Mind Enterprises heb ik volgens mij geintroduceerd in dit topic, dus extra leuk dat ie nu de weeklijst haalt. Lekker melige italodisco in de stijl van Todd Terje's Inspector Norse. Om vrolijk van te worden!
Naive Ted ft. Murli draaide al een paar weken warm bij 123poetertjes voordat ze breder werden opgepikt. Toevallig draaide ik hem vanmiddag ook in de trein, maar toen kon ik er niet echt iets mee. Nu komt de experimentele opzwepende hiphop wel erg goed binnen. Wat een energie en wat een creativiteit. Voer iedereen die niet vies is van wat beats, maar ook Kate Tempest en The Streets. Mooie vondst Niek!
Wallowa Lake Monster is afkomstig van Sufjan Stevens' deze maand te verschijnen outtakes-verzamelaar van Carrie and Lowell. Dit nummer gaat net als dat album over zijn overleden moeder, maar is tekstueel dan ook nog doorspekt met referenties naar Dungeons and Dragons. Verder het vertrouwde persoonlijke en zeer intieme geluid van Sufjan, eigenlijk zijn de laatste 2 minuten (die volledig instrumentaal zijn) nog wel het mooist.
Four Tet heeft de laatste tijd aardig wat singles uitgebracht en Planet haalt nu de lijst. Toevallig zag ik vandaag iemand schrijven dat de nieuwe muziek van Four Tet doet denken aan "rituals, de intratuin en de soundtrack van de lokale Chinees" en eerlijk gezegd voel ik dat wel, maar ik vind dit nog wel de fijnste single van het stel.
Ik ga m'n koffer maar eens in, een goede week allen!

16. herman kwam aanzetten met deze geweldige technotrack. Hypnotiserende synths worden laagje voor laagje over de beat heen gelegd, en als de opbouw zijn climax bereikt en de instrumentatie wegvalt vallen perfecte koorvocalen in. Een toffe en redelijk unieke mix van langzame, 'heady' techno en toegankelijke popelementen.
24. Herman en 123poetertjes nomineerden Yaeji al eerder met toffe alternatieve tracks die invloeden uit trap, deep house en LA beats combineren. Met raingurl, een track waarmee de Koreaans-Amerikaanse duidelijk de invloed van 'luie' deep house artiesten als Axel Boman en Galcher Lustwerk op de voorgrond brengt, weet ze mij ook te overtuigen.
29. BADBADNOTGOOD en Colin Stetson laten zien elkaar perfect aan te vullen. De kenmerkende arpeggio's van de Amerikaanse circulair ademende saxofonist staan de funky beats van zijn Noorderburen niet in de weg, maar geven er extra dimensie aan. Ik had deze single aanvankelijk gemist, maar pik hem nu toch mee door de nominatie van Eigenwijze 30.
31. Na twee meer toegankelijke albums lijkt Aesop Rock weer terug te grijpen naar zijn oude, overmatig abstracte stijl van rappen. Desalwelteplus komt Hot Dogs bij mij gelijk goed binnen.
34. Deze tweede single van de niet lang geleden overleden Sharon Jones en haar band The Dap-Kings vind ik denk ik nog beter dan de eerste. Deze klinkt nóg meer als een overblijfsel uit de lang vergane gloriedagen van soulmuziek.
37. Zoals Herman in het weekoverzicht al aangaf is dit niet een nummer dat je even luchtig opzet om naar te luisteren, en het is dan ook de vraag hoe lang ik dit geregeld kan blijven luisteren, maar interessant is het zeker. Hoewel de nieuwe single van Young Fathers mijn lijst (nog) niet haalt, is de invloed van de jonge Schotten duidelijk te horen in zowel de productie als rapstijl van deze track.
38. No Selling vond ik eerst een beetje mager vergeleken met de voorgaande singles van Open Mike Eagle - ook 95 Radios vind ik beter, maar die ging ik pas later luisteren en heeft zijn kans dus gemist. Toch weet ook deze track, mede dankzij het feit dat het hele album dope is, me bij te blijven. "My legs tired because I'm running things!"
40. Uit de tiplijst van Niek plukte ik de nieuwe single van Kllo. Deze kan niet tippen aan de remix van Mall Grab die eerder een grote hit werd in mijn lijst, omdat hij toch iets té glad en gepolijst is om een blijvende indruk achter te laten, maar is toch een toffe poptrack met UK Garage invloeden.

Stormachtige 30 - week 45
Ja, waar anders dan een top 10-notering voor deze nieuwe single van Jerry Williams. Lekker uptempo en vrolijk. Ik heb ‘m vanochtend pas 1x gehoord, maar weet nu al: deze gaat de komende weken snel de top 3 in. Nelson Can = zoals HAIM vroeger klonk (eerste album) met een vleugje Fleetwood Mac. Helemaal mijn ding! Morrisseys nieuwe single natuurlijk weer in de top 30, gevolgd door de nieuwste van de Afrikaanse desertrockers Imarhan. Azzaman zet de lijn van het album uit 2016 moeiteloos voort en klinkt sprankelend. Onderaan vinden we wat andere singles in de indie-hoek, die een kans verdienen en hopelijk de komende weken stijgen.

I wanna write songs like Jerry
Nieuwe JW = blije 123p. Gister verscheen haar nieuwe (die ik uiteraard al kende) en dat verdient gelijk een hoog plekje in de lijst. De eerste plek was echter al beloofd aan Ruby, de tweede aan Lauran en de derde aan de Limerickboyz dus Jerry moet genoegen nemen met een vierde stek, net boven mijn andere 2017-sensatie Alice Jemima. Met andere woorden: Ik hou zielsveel van mijn topvijf
Ruby Fields dus op één, heerlijk om deze op vol volume in mijn nieuwe kamer af te spelen. Voorlopig zijn mijn huisgenoten nog niet komen klagen dus vermoedelijk vinden zij haar ook gewoon tof, want horen kunnen ze haar op zeker door de dunne wandjes heen. Aweeeeeeeeee Jerry!!! Grab Life was de te verwachten nieuwe single en het is een goede keuze want hij is catchy as fuuuuuuuck. Jerry schreef deze naar aanleiding van het overlijden van een goede familievriend, maar in plaats van bij de pakken neer te zitten blijft ze juist optimistisch en houdt ze het yolo-principe (typ ik dat nu werkelijk..?) aan: don’t watch the sunshine from your bed. Met op de cover een baby-Jerry die door paps in de lucht wordt geworpen, kan het nog schattiger? Verschillende versies (zoals deze akoestische of met deze met band) hebben bij mij al meer dan honderd (100) gezamenlijke luisterbeurten achter de rug en die cijfers zullen met de komst van de studioversie ongetwijfeld een forse boost krijgen. Moet bij deze studioversie nog een beetje wennen aan de productie - net wat meer kauwgomballig dan haar oudere werk lijkt het - maar dat komt misschien ook omdat ik die andere versies al gewoon ben dus dat zal zeker goedkomen. En zo niet, dan kan ik me in elk geval nog verheugen op de akoestische versie die ze ongetwijfeld ten gehore zal brengen op 11 december in Amsterdam.

Dua Lipa - New Rules
Uiteraard kende ik ook deze al wel een tijdje - Ik bedoel, hier kon je echt niet meer omheen. In supermarkten, op feestjes, in het OV: New Rules is overal. Ik kon er altijd wel graag naar luisteren al zette ik het nummer nooit echt uit mezelf op. Tot voor kort dan, alsof ik een second hand addictie heb opgelopen ofzo. Mij hoor je er niet over klagen hoor, erg fijn popliedje en Dua Lipa verdient dan ook een plekje in mijn lijst.

Alessi's Ark - Desert
Na een kort uitstapje als simpelweg Alessi is Alessi Laurent-Marke nu weer terug bij haar oude artiestennaam. Desert is ook weer gewoon erg vertrouwd: een fijn loom folkliedje met een catchy randje, en wat heeft ze toch een goede stem! Clipje is een diavoorstelling van Alessi’s tripje naar Isle of Wight. Misschien heeft ze Lauran Hibberd daar nog wel gespot, ze zitten qua stijl ook redelijk dicht bij elkaar, al neigt Lauran meer ricting Jerry en Alessi meer richting Charlotte Carpenter. Prima gezelschap als je het mij vraagt.

Nu grime een opmars beleeft in mijn Afrekening kan ik deze boy natuurlijk niet in da corner laten staan. Met een titel als Bop n Keep It Dippin verdien je dat bovendien ook wel, zeker omdat ie ook nogal erg goed is. En een hele toffe clip ook: Dizzee als Baron die zijn versies van Vlugge Japie en B2 over de globe stuurt om een oud-werknemer om te leggen nadat die laatste Dizzees volledige kluis heeft geplunderd alvorens door het raam te springen. En nog wat van dat soort zaken.

Tamara Grzegorzek, Jonny Elstone en Alex Archer Band vormen samen Me and the Moon. Wie van deze drie daadwerkelijk de maan is zou ik niet weten. Wel weet ik dat ze uit Brighton komen en inspiratie halen uit o.a. Vampire Weekend en ons aller Jerry Williams. Je hoort het er in flarden ook wel vanaf, al is het nog net niet strak genoeg om boven het maaiveld uit te komen.
Negative Gemini - You Weren't There Anymore
Negative Gemini was één van de twintig namen van mijn allereerste Tipafrekening (snif, mooie tijden) en nu is ze dus weer terug met een nieuwe. Deze is een stukje minder gruizig dan die vorige maar dat wil nog niet zeggen dat ie helemaal niet gruizig meer is. Rond de drie minuten kickt de psychoshizzle ook nog even zeer kortstondig in. Maar dan ook heel kort. Mand.
Tia Gostelow - That's What You Get
Dacht in eerste instantie met een nieuwe van TOPS te maken te hebben, totdat het Australische accent begon op te vallen. Wat me ook niet heel erg verbaast, want dat land levert per kangoeroe ook ongeveer één vrouwelijke artieste uit het frisse indiepopgenre. Deze dame komt dan weer van Groote Eylandt, een redelijk groot eiland in het noorden van het land met het inwonertal van een klein dorp. Misschien dat ze daar wel overspel plegende muppets hebben, dat zou het clipje wel verklaren.
TWICE - One More Time
Mijn favoriete foute k-popgroep is terug! Dit keer hebben de negen k-popjes hun stoute sportschoenen aangetrokken en showen ze hun skills in het clipje. Nog een wonder dat ze niet uitglijden over de overdaad aan glazuur in het nummer, al zijn ze dat inmiddels wel gewend natuurlijk. En tekst die op de meest bizarre moments suddenly switches from Korean to English and 다른 방향으로. De producties blijven desalniettemin gewoon retedik en de meisjes uiterst charmant, dus waarom moeilijk doen?

Nieuwe JW = blije 123p. Gister verscheen haar nieuwe (die ik uiteraard al kende) en dat verdient gelijk een hoog plekje in de lijst. De eerste plek was echter al beloofd aan Ruby, de tweede aan Lauran en de derde aan de Limerickboyz dus Jerry moet genoegen nemen met een vierde stek, net boven mijn andere 2017-sensatie Alice Jemima. Met andere woorden: Ik hou zielsveel van mijn topvijf
Ruby Fields dus op één, heerlijk om deze op vol volume in mijn nieuwe kamer af te spelen. Voorlopig zijn mijn huisgenoten nog niet komen klagen dus vermoedelijk vinden zij haar ook gewoon tof, want horen kunnen ze haar op zeker door de dunne wandjes heen. Naast Jerry nog twee binnenkomers. In de Tipafrekening vooral veel leuke clipjes deze week (lees: ik heb een keer de moeite gedaan wat clipjes te bekijken en daar zat best wat leuks tussen).

Aweeeeeeeeee Jerry!!! Grab Life was de te verwachten nieuwe single en het is een goede keuze want hij is catchy as fuuuuuuuck. Jerry schreef deze naar aanleiding van het overlijden van een goede familievriend, maar in plaats van bij de pakken neer te zitten blijft ze juist optimistisch en houdt ze het yolo-principe (typ ik dat nu werkelijk..?) aan: don’t watch the sunshine from your bed. Met op de cover een baby-Jerry die door paps in de lucht wordt geworpen, kan het nog schattiger? Verschillende versies (zoals deze akoestische of met deze met band) hebben bij mij al meer dan honderd (100) gezamenlijke luisterbeurten achter de rug en die cijfers zullen met de komst van de studioversie ongetwijfeld een forse boost krijgen. Moet bij deze studioversie nog een beetje wennen aan de productie - net wat meer kauwgomballig dan haar oudere werk lijkt het - maar dat komt misschien ook omdat ik die andere versies al gewoon ben dus dat zal zeker goedkomen. En zo niet, dan kan ik me in elk geval nog verheugen op de akoestische versie die ze ongetwijfeld ten gehore zal brengen op 11 december in Amsterdam.

Dua Lipa - New Rules
Uiteraard kende ik ook deze al wel een tijdje - Ik bedoel, hier kon je echt niet meer omheen. In supermarkten, op feestjes, in het OV: New Rules is overal. Ik kon er altijd wel graag naar luisteren al zette ik het nummer nooit echt uit mezelf op. Tot voor kort dan, alsof ik een second hand addictie heb opgelopen ofzo. Mij hoor je er niet over klagen hoor, erg fijn popliedje en Dua Lipa verdient dan ook een plekje in mijn lijst.
