Gaat erom spannen of we na vanavond Tranquility Base Hotel + Casino (album) nog terugzien in dit spel.

Zou wel jammer zijn als één album helemaal afgeserveerd wordt. Ik vind het wel een groeier, vooral Star Treatment is een goede track.

Aan jullie de vraag om je tien favorieten te rangschikken en het geheel (indien je zin hebt) te voorzien van begeleidende schrijfsels. De deadline zet ik voorlopig even om 19:00, ik weet nog niet hoe mijn vrijdagavond eruit gaat zien maar wacht in ieder geval niet tot het laatste moment.

Crying Lightning lag er bijna uit! Nota bene de nummer 2 in de Arctic Monkeys KO van een paar jaar geleden. (Edit: O, dat was alweer zeven jaar en twee albums terug...)

Ik heb de band inmiddels 3x gezien, op Lowlands en 2x BKS. Ik heb geen enkel album maar live is het toch wel prima al vond ik de eerste 2x wel beter dan de laatste.

Grootste 'hits' is vrij te interpreteren. Want vanuit welk standpunt: Setlist tijdens concert? Playlist thuis? persoonlijke favs? Juist bij AM komen er geheel verschillende lijsten uit en dan hebben we ook nog de battle tussen OldSchool en de nieuwe crooner-rock.
Wat mij juist zo aanspreekt bij de IJs-Monkeys is de onbegrensde creativiteit van met name Alex. En die komt het best tot zn recht als hij niet maakt wat de fans van het eerste uur willen horen.
Om mijn eigen Favo.list te maken mis ik de gehele top6. Dus hartelijk dank voor het geheel afwijzen van TBH+C, SiaS, HB. Dat er dan toch nog een mooie lijst uitkomt bewijst de kwaliteit.

Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not staat al vanaf dat het kon in mijn top 10. Ik heb de Monkeys 7x zien optreden, waarbij de optredens in Tivoli Oudegracht ('inspelen' voor Pink Pop) & de E-Werke in Keulen het allerbeste waren, met vlak daarna die in de Melkweg, waar ze Favorite Worst Nightmare presenteerden. Ik heb ook veel songs uit hun begintijd die nooit zijn uitgebracht en die hier niet hadden misstaan.

Mijn top 10 voor vandaag met op plek 1-5 nummers van mijn favoriet, hun debuutalbum. Helaas ontbreekt in de finale wel het geweldige (ook live) Still Take You Home. Verder heb ik van alle andere albums een juweeltje gekozen. Dit omdat ze allemaal de moeite meer dan waard zijn, ook een prestatie op zich. Dit is mijn lijstje:

Het moge duidelijk zijn dat Favourite Worst Nightmare mijn favoriete Arctic Monkeys-plaat is. Heel impulsief - en als statement, omdat het er bijna uit lag in de vorige ronde - heb ik This House Is A Circus tot mijn nummer één gebombardeerd. Dat nummer heeft me de afgelopen dagen het meeste luisterplezier opgeleverd! Ook Old Yellow Bricks heeft een serieuze opmars gemaakt in mijn hoofd.
