Ah, daar is Blind Willie Johnson, die heb ik op 16. Even geleden nog een mooie verzamel cd voor 4 euri gevonden bij Plato van deze beste man.
En ik zie nu gelijk dat ook mijn nummer 2 erin staat. Mooi zeg: op 3 in onze lijst! Ik vond het zo prettig om naar Lead Belly te luisteren, dat ik inmiddels een verzamel cd van hem in huis heb. Bijna alles daarop is erg goed. Vooral (Black Gal) Where Did You Sleep Last Night? maar bijvoorbeeld ook Black Betty (wat Ram Jam coverde).
En ik zie nu gelijk dat ook mijn nummer 2 erin staat. Mooi zeg: op 3 in onze lijst! Ik vond het zo prettig om naar Lead Belly te luisteren, dat ik inmiddels een verzamel cd van hem in huis heb. Zonder Nirvana was dit nummer me nooit opgevallen en voor de vermoedelijke nummer 2 dank ik ook Grace Jones.

Podium had ik goed voorspeld (vanuitgaande dat we nog Grace Jones en Nina Simone/Kanye West krijgen). En is Dark Was the Night zo’n grote klassieker? Ik heb hem zelf behoorlijk hoog - ik ken hem als naamgever (en titeltrack) van de verzamelaar Dark Was the Night - maar had hem hier eigenlijk niet zo hoog verwacht. Ook Bessie Smith lekker hoog 
En heel terecht een tweede Billie. Ik heb haar maar liefst vier keer in de top-10 (en deze op #7).
