Ik haak aan bij the battles

Ik wil zeker geen ander nummer nomineren. Dit nummer hoort gewoon in een Roy Orbison KO, het is namelijk het eerste nummer dat hij zelf schreef.

De vraag is wel welke versie gaat meespelen. Roy heeft het nummer namelijk meerdere keren uitgebracht. Eerst onder de titel GO! GO! GO! als B-kantje van de single Ooby Dooby (1956), daarna onder de titel Down The Line als track op de LP 'the Big O' (1970) en tenslotte op het live Album A Black and White Night onder de titel Move on Down the Line (1989).
In de tweede release van dit live album (1999) staat het nummer overigens vermeld onder de titel 'Go! Go! Go! (Down the Line)'.

Kies jij maar welke versie in deze KO gaat meedoen, Shaky.

Inderdaad die eerste uit 1956 en ik ben het met je eens: die hoort in een Orbison KO.

Je kunt toch willekeurig welke versie (in je hoofd) mee laten doen? Dan bedenkt een ieder zijn favoriete uitvoering erbij, toch? Ik zie het probleem niet

Dat zijn 4 titels die ik zeker ook wil nomineren. Maar als er slechts 1 of 2 geplaatst kunnen worden, kies ik voor In the real world en wedding day. Ik denk echter dat beide songs op de lijst kunnen, want
als er gezegd wordt dat alleen soloplaten mogen, wat doen de duetten Crying met K.D. Lang en That Lovin' You Feelin' Again met Emmylou Harris in de lijst?
Anders kan ik Indian summer met the Gatlin brothers nog wel opvoeren......

Leuk om te zien hoe zeer smaken kunnen varieren. Zie nummers in de lijst staan waarvan ik zelfs vind dat het tot zijn mindere werk behoort.

En met In the Real World hebben we het 64ste nummer te pakken. Meende ik dat we minstens één tot twee dagen nodig hadden om tot een volledige lijst te kunnen komen, maar niets is minder waar: de strijd kan al gaan losbarsten!

Om 11.00 post ik de battles en dan kunnen we gaan stemmen. Voor nu nog eventjes de regels om het wel leuk en eerlijk te houden:

- Er is een volledig open loting geweest middels een randomizer; er zijn geen beschermde platen.

- Na elke ronde zal ik opnieuw een open loting houden: het is dus niet zo dat de winnaar van battle 1 tegen de winnaar van battle 32 speelt, etc. Nieuwe loting na elke ronde.

- Elke battle zal 1 winnaar kennen die doorgaat naar de volgende ronde.

- In ronde 1 geldt: zodra een plaat 6 stemmen heeft gekregen, wordt de volgende battle geplaatst.

- Iedereen kan de volgende battle plaatsen zodra de vorige voorbij is.

- Wanneer een battle niet tot 6 stemmen voor een plaat komt, geldt de 24 uur regel.

- Wanneer de stand ook na 24 uur nog gelijk is, gaat de plaat die als eerste het hoogst aantal stemmen kreeg door naar de volgende ronde.

- Let bij het plaatsen van jouw stem goed op wat de huidige stand is; soms stemmen mensen exact gelijk, en sinds kort is het op MusicMeter nodig om de pagina te verversen / opnieuw te starten als je deze een tijdje hebt laten openstaan. Super irritant, maar so be it.

- Een vriendelijk, doch dringend, verzoek om alleen te stemmen als je beide platen kent. De Spotify-playlist: MuMe Roy Orbison KO is toegevoegd, dus dat hoeft geen probleem te zijn
